Best Thai food I’ve had in the month I’ve spent travelling Thailand and trying all the food I could find. It’s all fresh and cooked to perfection, rich in flavour without being overwhelmingly sweet. I’ve had everything from the vegan section of their menu, which is ample and clearly labelled, and it is all exquisite. My favourite is probably the panang curry with tofu. It seems to be a family business and every member of the family is wonderful—the service is excellent. Portions are more generous than in most places, and rice is included with the curries at no extra cost, making it the best value place I’ve found. I can’t heap enough praise on this little gem, I encourage you to visit!
PS check out the tokay who lives in the subwoofer of their soundsystem up on a shelf, and can be seen most evenings with a head and one arm leaning out and surveying the clientele!
PPS Bee is often out getting fresh ingredients from the market in the morning. Although they’ll be open and setting up for the day, you may not be able to order food until...
Read moreBest tasty Thai food for good value of money in this area we had. We eat there nearly every day!
You have to try it if you are nearby! The waitress can somethimes look a bit grumpy, don't be discourage, she will warm up! The waitress can't speak English so well, but the cook speaks good english.
I recommend the fried vegetables with rice or sweet sour with tofu and rice (which is the best we had in this area) and the national dish pad thai. But I think you can eat everything, we never had a bad choice there.
They have around 6-7 vegetarian/vegan dishes and 3 desserts! Of course one of these is sticky rice with Mango and this sticky rice is really the No. 1 I had during our stay in Thailand. But you can ask to make also other meat dishes with tofu.
I highly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch and...
Read moreMy partner and I both got mild food poisoning after eating here & we waited 50 minutes for our lunch. We ordered simple dishes - fried morning glory & chicken basil rice, which don't take long to cook.
Lots of flies in their kitchen & flying around the tables. They don't bother to do anything about them - in Ann's Kitchen just next door they at least have a sticky sheet in their kitchen that combats the fly problem.
On top of all this the food wasn't good - morning glory was the most oily I've had on the island, I've ordered this same dish at other restaurants and this was the worst. Chicken basil didn't taste right either. Got stomach pains for 2 days after...
