Johm Thong Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

I wanted to like this place because the people were nice upon entering, but I left hungry and annoyed because the food was awful after a very long wait. We waited for nearly an hour for fried rice and a curry in a not busy place (no apologies) and the veggie curry finally served was just sad and completely tasteless, lukewarm, not even half a bowl, super watery, zero spice in it like it should be and had like 2 little broccoli pieces, 2 half beans and 2 of the Thai green veggies in it, that's it. The small sized rice I ordered with it was tiny. I told the guy it wasn't good and why and he didn't react verbally at all, just bowed and walked away. Possibly he didnt understand but the fact remains it was the worst curry I've been served in Thailand ever, shame since it's a nice looking place but won't...

I ordered fried rice with vegetables. I waited 40 minutes for it to be brought to me, they just forgot about me. Then it turned out that rice with an egg, I went up to the hostess and asked why rice with an egg, because an egg is not a vegetable? silently without explaining anything to me and without even apologizing for the situation with a long wait, they threw me my money back. Leaving the restaurant cold and hungry, I decided to record a video review. The restaurant staff ran after me with their phones, recording me also on video and scaring the police at the same time. Extra cozy place!) We visited this place at ~6pm and we were alone) quiet, good music, nice seaview, friendly and kind people I had a Tom Yam soup with seafood. Good one👍 Unusual that it was with fish also and without all this grass and ginger inside - so everything in the bowl you can eat)) Baby 5yo had a fried rice with chicken, no spicy, she liked. S-size isn't so small, the serving size was even big for her, so it's ok for a quiet hungry lady)) Our daddy had a simple seafood soup. If Thai food's new for you, it'll be great, also good for kids who love fish. If you got used to all this spicy Thai food, this soup could be a lil tasteless🙌
