The atmosphere is great, but that’s where it ends. The prices are the same as back home - which I wouldn’t mind if they were paying the staff the same wages as back home or had to pay the same prices for ingredients… which they don’t. It’s probably 1/10th the costs for the place to make the food that means it’s basically highway robbery for the owner. I would pay a premium for the atmosphere, premium service and amazing food, but that last 2 are where things really fall apart.
You can read the other reviews about the food quality - it’s probably the lower end of all of Thailand in my opinion.
The especially horrible part is the service. We are a family of 6 with kids ranging from 10 to 17. Yesterday we arrived at 5:00 - couldn’t flag down a waiter to order until 5:15. The first plate came out at 5:35. The next 2 arrived at 5:55 - by this time the first person was finished dinner and the rest of us had been at the place for an hour. 6:15 we had 2 more plates arrive - now 1/2 of the family is fed and the other half are hangry and have been waiting for well over an hour. By the time those last two people ate, I flagged down a waiter to ask “where is the last plate”? - they forgot it, yet somehow managed to whip it up in 10 min?!? Why couldn’t they do that with all of them at once? This whole time we also didn’t get anyone asking if we wanted more drinks (which we did - water). So we didn’t actually get to eat dinner together as a family, we paid through our nose for mediocre food and we all left angry and annoyed.
Do yourself a favor - come here and take pictures (that’s all this place is good for), then walk to a nearby restaurant for some good food and service - this way you’ll have the best of...
Read moreWe recently visited a restaurant in Copenhagen that came highly recommended, but unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype. While the restaurant has some positive aspects, there were significant issues that detracted from our overall enjoyment.
To start with the positives, the restaurant is beautifully designed, creating a great first impression. It’s located right on the beach, offering a relaxed and scenic setting. The decor is unique, with lots of wooden elements, rope swings, and a cool, laid-back vibe. The ambiance is really inviting, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the seaside views.
However, the main problem with our visit was the cleanliness of the dining area. Despite the lovely setting, we found that there were ants all over the tables, which significantly affected our dining experience. It’s hard to fully enjoy your meal when you have to constantly brush ants away. This issue made us feel uncomfortable and distracted during our time there, and it’s something we wouldn’t expect from a restaurant with such a good reputation.
Overall, while the atmosphere and design of the place are fantastic, the presence of ants on the tables really brought down the experience. It’s a shame because the location has so much potential, but we wouldn’t recommend it unless this issue...
Read moreOkay, to start with the positives. Incredible setting and decor, truly magical. Many different sitting areas under a canopy of mango and coconut trees, draped with ropes and swings and hammocks and natural decorations, overlooking secret beach or the ocean. I would love to see this place at night. Jumping off point and excellent snorkelling in the 'diving area'.
Now, the not so positives. The food was average at best and ridiculously overpriced. As much as I'd pay in Australia for breakfast (and not as good quality). The 'grilled mushrooms' were out of a can. I asked whether it would be possible to have a banana yoghurt smoothie (only mango, strawberry and blueberry on the menu) to be bluntly told 'no' (even though they clearly had banana). When my mango smoothie arrived, it made sense - this was some awful commercial concoction, nauseatingly sweet and artificial. And why oh why the single use plastic cup??? Service was blunt. Snorkelling gear for hire was in poor condition and overpriced - 150 baht per hour or 300 baht if you wanted fins as well.
Worth a stop in for a drink just to see it, but I dont...
