MexSiam Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Went for the first time, Saturday, January 6th. Initially was just planning on a few beers with friends and to enjoy a live performance from Oliver Jones.

We were greeted and seated by the friendly owners, who act as visible and accessible hosts, checking in from time to time, ensuring all guests were happy.

Unable to resist the reasonably priced menu’s(with easy to read print!), we couldn’t resist trying a bit of everything.

I wasn’t expecting much as there has been a recent spike of “Mexican”, on the island, most either lacking in quality, quantity, or authenticity, just a cheap ingredient money grab to try and cash in on the trend.

This was not the case here, large servings, of fantastic food, so much so, that I forgot to inquire about additional hot sauces, which I usually use too much of anyway.

Paying a visit to MexSiam is a must if you're looking to satisfy your Mexican food craving. The food was savoury and tasted fresh, there were also plenty of vegan options available. The nachos we ordered were abundant and more than enough for 2 people. The meat on the crispy bite size tortillas was lean, flavourful and so were the other toppings. The chicken quesadillas were soft and light although packed with flavour, none of that greasy stuff you usually get at your average wannabe Mexican restaurant! We finished off with the banoffee, which was a delight for our tastebuds. To top it off, the presentation was neat and the service was friendly; we were served very quickly and with a welcoming smile. We really like MexSiam! We've been to this beautiful restaurant several times and the food has always been excellent. We've enjoyed some nice bottles of reasonably price wine, but the kids love it too. They are really interested in the padel courts and love to have the space to run around and get some fresh air and exercise (we are careful to make sure they don't get in the way). It is so great for parents to meet up with friends and have a leisurely dinner while the kids stretch their legs.

We have met the owners several times, a lovely couple named David and Vicky, who are warm and welcoming hosts. They are kind enough to send a quick text to let us know of any special events.
