The ambiance was quite nice. While sitting there, there was often a slight breeze, or at least a few fans were running.
Unfortunately, the service staff didn’t speak English very well, making communication quite difficult. The pizza from their own stone oven should have been better—it was sparsely topped and didn’t quite match the expectations set by the pictures. The crust was especially large, making the topping-to-dough ratio unbalanced.
Despite specifically asking if one of the dishes was spicy and being told it wasn’t, it was still quite spicy by European standards. I understand that it might not be considered spicy for locals, but in this price segment, the restaurant primarily caters to tourists and foreigners, so it should adjust to their expectations.
We also had the eggplant lasagna, which was a bit overloaded with cheese but still tasted very good.
As others have also noted, the service wasn’t particularly friendly. This might be partly due to the language barrier, but it’s definitely something that should...
Read moreFirst time trying it we sat for about ten minutes and nobody paid any attention so we went elsewhere. Second time ordered a pizza as the pizza setup looks legit with the wood oven. It was indeed pretty good. The prices here are too high in general although the cost of pizzas was comparable to other pizza places in Phuket. Something lacking in Chaweng was real proper coffee. I noticed these guys had a nice big coffee machine so had expectations of a good cafe latte. Unfortunately it was boncafe / Thai style. Half full of foam and for a price of 143 baht. I understand they are probably locked into a boncafe contract and trained by boncafe but with the big machine they have I think they could fix the coffee problem quite easily with proper training and coffee beans. Service and atmosphere of the restaurant was quite good and I think with some adjustments it could be quite...
Read moreHad such a wonderful dinner at Rice on my 2nd night during my stay at Jalmin hotel. The staff made us feel right at home and they were super helpful, making sure we had plenty of space and never felt rushed.
The food was great and their homemade pizza was a highlight as well as their extensive cheese and cold cuts selections. We had tried a few different dishes like the rack of lamb, pesto spaghetti and tuna salad, and every bite was packed with flavour throughout the dishes.
The restaurant also houses extensive selections of wines and bar beverages.
The atmosphere and ambiance is thoughtfully decorated with Thai motifs and elements, featuring extensive teak furnishings and panels throughout the interiors. The setting is stylish and relaxed. If you're on Koh Samui want a memorable Italian and Thai cuisine with warm service, this place is absolutely...
