Risto Luca — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Went early at around 17 -18.00. I was the only one in restaurant. Took a capriciosa pizza, smooty and banana icecream desert. Pizza was clearly not made in a firewood oven, it felt like that dough had some days under its belt in the fridge before ...and was not properly baked as well. Pizza was only properly cooked in the middle. The rest of ingrediends felt very cheap especially the mozzarella, given the taste, something you'd forget the moment you stepped out of the restaurant. I suggest the owner or cook try a visit to Baci or Prego see how a proper pizza is made. Not perfect, not a firewood oven, but a far cry from what I ate today. The interior is simple, with no pretentiousness or superfluity, but the tables are wide enough to make you feel at ease, and the service is courteous and smiling, without being overly accommodating. The cuisine is Italian, and doesn't disperse itself into other various dishes like other catch-all restaurants do.

The menu covers the basics of Italian cuisine, with a rich selection of classic and fresh pasta dishes to suit all tastes. The Greek salad I ordered smelled of fresh vegetables and was as tasty as it was refreshing. The fresh pasta bolognese I had was a real treat in terms of taste and quality. We are an Italian couple and tonight we had the best Italian meal we have eaten abroad! We had the starter "Risto Luca" which was so tasty and for main course we had the Carbonara pasta. We really enjoyed it and we were almost surprised for how tasty it was!!!! For dessert we had a Nutella "tiramisu" and some fresh fruit. It really worth to try it at least once if you come in Koh Samui! You can find it in Chaweng in a very nice zone of the city,  the restaurant is very nice and clean and staff very polite.
