We had high hopes for this Italian restaurant, but unfortunately, it was the worst pizza I have ever eaten. I’ve had both incredible and terrible pizza in my life, but this was on a whole other level of disappointment. I ordered a Capricciosa pizza, and it was just awful. The crust tasted and felt like it was frozen, and don’t start with the toppings. It didn’t have the authenticity or quality you’d expect from an Italian pizzeria.
The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, which initially made us feel like we had walked into a great spot. We didn’t check the reviews beforehand, but after receiving our pizza and realising how bad it was, I looked them up, turns out, many other customers have had similar complaints. It seems like this isn’t just a one-off experience, the quality of their pizza is consistently poor.
To make matters worse, it seems the owner has responded defensively to negative feedback instead of taking it as an opportunity to improve. That kind of attitude tells me they have no interest in bettering their restaurant.
We were initially planning to order dessert and stay longer, maybe even enjoy some more drinks. But after that pizza, my boyfriend and I decided there was no point. If the pizza was that bad, we didn’t want to risk anything else. Anyway, we both agree, this was an absolute disgrace to Italian pizza.
I would never return, and unless the owner starts taking customer feedback seriously, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. There are far better options out there.
PS we ate the pizzas because we were starving from being out all day on the tour. We should have checked...
Read moreI was craving some bolognese and bread so I stopped by this place and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I obviously ordered bolognese but I got it with spaghetti instead of penne. It was excellent! I also ordered the pizza bread/focaccia which is just oil and rosemary but had them throw some garlic on there. It was soooooo good. The service was also excellent. It’s always nice when someone can explain what it is that you’re ordering. I was very happy with this place from start to finish and will most certainly be back again before I go. Plus they have some of the most reasonable prices for Italian here on Samui. If you’re in town and craving Italian I recommend you check this place out. And that’s saying a lot cause I am picky af! Haha. Thanks again for the great service Mamma’s!
Read moreRevisited there in September 2019. Cozy Italian restaurant run by Italian family, but you can order Thai food there, too. Cheaper than ordinary Italian-run restaurants. I liked their Bolognese Pizza and Peperoncino Spaghetti. The spaghettis were slightly softer than my liking. but OK. ( I prefer Al dente) The pizza there was a pie-like dough pizza, but tasty. Plenty of Bolognese sauce, plenty of cheese. It may not be a typical pizza, but once I visit Ko Samui, I always feel like I want to eat Bolognese pizza there at least once. The service was very nice. Great...
