My husband and I tried to visit this place during our vacation and were completely turned off by our interaction with the women at the entrance. If I could leave this review without the star, I would. We approached the front desk and weren’t acknowledged at all by any of the 3 women that were sitting there. (And yes, they saw us). I finally broke the silence and without saying a word, one of them pointed to a sign that read “750 baht minimum spend”. I CANT EVEN EAT AT MCDONALDS FOR LESS THAN THAT. I thought that it was rude and tasteless to do especially when you haven’t even greeted us first, but I nodded and reluctantly asked for a menu. She handed it to me and preceded to ask us how we plan to pay. I’ve traveled all around the world and Koh Samui is by far the cheapest place that I’ve been to. It is safe to assume that most foreigners have more than enough money to eat here and even if they didn’t, it is completely inappropriate to even insinuate that they don't. I wanted to tell them that my plane ticket and 2 weeks worth of accommodations probably cost me more than their entire salary, but to avoid making matters worse, I decided to leave. I stayed in earshot until my taxi came and I watched 3 separate parties (1 sounded Australian and the other two European) be greeted and seated right after I left without the questions or assumptions. The women were actually quite pleasant towards them. I do understand that the world is racist, but to be treated this way was extremely disheartening. I wanted to come here despite the mixed food reviews because it seemed like a good vibe. I have had a series of racist interactions during my visit, but this one took the cake. I’m a big spender and an even bigger tipper and I was excited to give this place a try despite the mixed food reviews. Sadly I was completely turned off. Black people don't deserve to be profiled, no one does. ESPECIALLY not when you are patronizing a business. Now, I mentioned that there were 3 women at the front desk earlier, but I’d also like to point out that one of those “women” was a trans-women. The audacity of you to be a double minority yourself and be complicit in mistreating another minority is mind blowing. If you’re reading this, how dare you. Shame on the women at the front desk and shame on the establishment for not training them not to show their implicit bias. I took my taxi to where my Black money was appreciated and if you are anything besides white (physically), I suggest you do the same....
Read moreNice beach club. It is a shame about my bad experience yesterday. I went with my girlfriend. Sat on one of the beds for about 3 hours. And we had about 3 or 4 beers each. After being there a while, I had to make a business call, (a quick 5 minute urgent and important call). So I sat on the edge of the bed and my girlfriend gave me space. Out of nowhere, the waitress is suddenly standing right beside me, waving the check in my face. Asking me to check if its correct. She could obviously see I was on the phone. I pointed at my phone signalling "I am on the phone" whilst trying to concentrate.. its like she couldnt care less. she still waving the check in my face! So I pause my conversation and say again that I'm on the phone, I can deal with the check after. Firstly, I never once asked for the check. And wasn't finished. Manners and basic common sense would surely not interrupt someone on the call. Not sure if that's a lack of training of common decency. I did not appreciate that at all. The beach club tries to make out it's high class as well, and charges high prices. I would expect better service and something like that not to happen. There was only about 10 people in the beach club. So not like it was busy or stressful. No excuse. Also there's about 8 of them working at one bar, just standing about chatting. I rang the bell several times for a drink, the bell didn't seem to work, or not sure why no one came over for ages. When I went to the bar to pay the bill I mentioned the issue about interrupting my business call to them, and asked the girl why she would do that. She just said sorry. No reason why. Madness really, I can't get my head round that. I won't be rushing back there. Left a bad...
Read moreI CAN’T GO TO THE BEACH THE REGULAR WAY ANYMORE!!
I had never gone to a beach club before. Now it’s my 3rd TIME in SEEN! Heads up to all the staff, from the kitchen staff: amazing food, nice presentation, flavorful and very satisfying. We went almost through the whole menu in these 3 times and I haven’t been disappointed by a single dish. Very good burger, exceptional deserts, tacos party is an explosion 💥, truffle pizza is exciting and juicy…etc. High five to the chef and kitchen staff, they really deserve it. Sorry I’m a foodie so I can go on and on about the food.
Service: from the moment you have paid and get your wristband, it’s like you have the feeling of “being taken care of”. They TAKE CARE OF YOU. They are all bright and charming smile, and you can tell that they want you to have a good time. Thank you guys. They pay attention to your eye contact whenever you need to order, they help you out moving your stuff when it starts raining, what more can you ask?
Animation: there’s one guy who dances with a crew of women, and does back flips. This guy, when he steps in, he turn the whole stage on FIRE 🔥. I don’t know where they found him but he’s the perfect entertainer to have for such a beach club.
On and all, of course I’ll be back. I want to be proud to say that I go there...
