I recently stumbled upon Romania Pizza in the beautiful island of Koh Pha-ngan, Thailand, and boy, was I in for a delightful surprise! If you're craving a unique twist on pizza that combines the flavors of Romania with the laid-back tropical vibes of Thailand, this charming little pizzeria is a must-visit.
The ambiance of Romania Pizza is cozy and inviting, with an open-air setting that allows you to enjoy the island's warm breeze while you dine. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you step in.
Now, onto the main attraction—the pizza itself! Romania Pizza offers a fascinating fusion of traditional Italian pizza with Romanian ingredients and influences. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven, giving it that authentic touch.
The menu features a variety of unique pizza toppings that you won't find at your typical pizzerias. I opted for their "Transylvanian Feast" pizza, topped with mămăligă (a Romanian polenta-like dish), savory sarmale (cabbage rolls stuffed with spiced minced meat and rice), and a generous sprinkling of feta cheese. Each bite was a burst of flavors, and I loved how the ingredients complemented each other harmoniously.
For those who prefer more traditional flavors, fear not! Romania Pizza also offers classic options like Margherita and Quattro Formaggi, ensuring there's something for everyone.
While the taste of the pizza is undoubtedly the highlight, I couldn't resist trying their homemade Romanian dessert, "Papanasi." These delightful fried doughnuts, served with a dollop of sour cream and a spoonful of fruit jam, provided the perfect sweet ending to my meal.
One point to note is that Romania Pizza is a bit pricier compared to some local eateries, but considering the quality of ingredients and the distinct culinary experience it offers, I found it well worth the indulgence.
All in all, Romania Pizza in Koh Pha-ngan brings a delightful taste of Romania to the shores of Thailand. Whether you're a pizza connoisseur looking for unique flavors or simply seeking an exciting culinary adventure, this charming pizzeria won't disappoint. Just be sure to arrive early, as the limited seating fills up quickly!

I went with my boyfriend to have a nice dinner. I had the gnocchi with tomato + extra vegan cheese (as the vegan gnocchi only came with regular parmesan I don’t know why). My boyfriend had a vegan pizza margarita it was very yummy.
Sadly, my dish came first and by the time his pizza arrived I already had finished my dish as it was a 30 min in between both or our dishes, which I did not like.
Regarding why I mentioned the scam… when eating our food we noticed on the table in front of us a woman complaining about her bill. We did not know why until our bill came. We normally don’t check it but in this case we did because of what we have noticed.
They were charging us 80bath more for absolutely nothing. When we complained about it they said there was an error in their system. Haven’t we complained about it they would have charged us the extra money. So please, revise your bill in this restaurant. (Also, they only accept...

The location is stunning and the staff were kind and welcoming. No complaints there.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the setting. I had to send back the steak, which I specifically asked to be rare, but it arrived completely well done... The fried squid dish was disappointing, it was mostly salad garnish with just few (really) small calamari rings and 4 prawns… The ravioli were undercooked and the sauce lacked any real flavor.
All this came to around $30 for just one ravioli dish, one small appetizer, one bottle of water, and a focaccia (which, to be fair, was quite good). To their credit, they didn’t charge me for the steak, which I appreciated.
If you’re looking for a place to have a beer and enjoy the atmosphere, this could work.
But for food? Sadly, I can’t recommend it. It's a real shame given...
