Salt Society – Beach Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Came here for nice drinks and chic beachside ambiance. What I like about this property is the new look and dedicated renovation plus rebranding of the entire resort - quite impressive. The drinks were nicely designed and enjoyable; combined with their chic beachside ambiance. Although I have to say the downside is the service. Friends and myself took the track from the resort - passed their swimming pool area - and entered what we thought was an entrance to the restaurant. To be frank we weren't so sure if the tracks leading up to the restaurant was a proper entrance as the steps were just off and absolutely no one was there accommodate us upon arrival. That part was OK when we thought we probably didn't enter the main entrance, but we were standing there a good 2 or 3 minutes at the daybed area, confused on whether this area (we wanted to sit but there were used towels around) can be seated since we presumed the previous customer had already left. We tried signaling the staff and even signaled to who looked like a manager (not so sure) but he'd seemingly rather occupy himself turning away inward to look else where. Ultimately we just wanted to bask with some nice drinks and go for a swim, so I had to walk all the way to the bar myself and ask if we could get a this particular spot and the menus. However once we got the staff attention, their service was friendly and attentive. The bar people did good job accommodating us. The drinks were enjoyable. From the resort's impressive decor and the huge length they go with design - along with tad high price tags - I want to say that the same expectation is what follows. Despite this chic setting or whatever the fancy brand stands for, the experience is definitely not 5...

A dinner not perfect at all. We reserved a table for dinner, we arrived in a magical place but with people to welcome us after a few minutes standing in front of the 4 tables present... a charming Lady install us. A big and long time is happening but we are enjoying the group and the singer present tonight. We end up calling with insitance from the staff preferring to play on their phone at the bar... so we place an order. Always as well installed in front of our show the time always seems long for the cocktails to ask! But the entrances arrived before the cocktails. The starters were good especially the tuna the wyagu tartare was even with the unflavored pepper. Another person asks us if we have finished our appetizers, what we approve... the dishes arrive so while we are not rid of and we especially took our cocktail in hand finally... we did not help so that the plates are deposited to us and the two dishes were cold Without flavor or even seasoned a non-existent filling and fries order in addition arrived well after the dishes, warm and out Of the nearest Macdonald's.

This experience left us with a bitter taste for the service and quality undertaken in such a place. It's splendid but artificial we are naturally going to pay at the bar because no one to bring us the note or even to whom...
