Silver Spoon — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

It was absolutely by chance yet felt like almost a miracle we found such a fantastic, high quality of food and services in only a minute walking distance from where we stayed in Silver Beach. [Silver Spoon (Former Romantic Bamboo?)] is a family operated, very friendly and always welcoming, relaxed and casual setting restaurant located in a heart of Silver Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Koh Samui(in our opinion).

What makes [Silver Spoon] restaurant so special and differentiated from among many other excellent restaurants is the chef, who has incredible talent and experience in two of the world’s most beloved cuisines(well, for us anyway). Thai and Italian. She has mastered expertises in not only her own native country’s taste, but also authentic Italian cuisine studied intensively for ten years while living in the heart of Bologna. No wonder everything is REAL DEAL!

Her Homemade Pastas with any of her special sauces are to die for! Bruschettas will take you to the Mediterranean Seaside little ristorante. The coffee works very well with either “Mango and Sticky Rice” or her specialty “Tiramisu”.

However long you’d stay in this area, you can enjoy switching back and forth two completely different, yet both authentic cuisines from Southeast Asian to Italian coast of Mediterranean Sea, while you enjoy the perfect island climate with soothing ocean breeze.

Another factor that I must mention about “Silver Spoon” Restaurant is the daughter of the chef, Nok. She is such a treasure, always pleasant with good vibe and consistent services of excellent hospitality. Her bright smile and sweet welcoming voice always make you feel at home whenever you stepped in to the premises, and always want to come back soon the moment you said good-night to them and stepped out onto the quiet hot sidewalk emerged from the darkness of nightfall covering the entire Koh Samui…

So, overall, I strongly recommend anyone loves quality food and excellent service in such reasonable prices, you should definitely visit “Silver Spoon”. Especially if you love Thai cuisine as well as Italian food, this is the place you MUST GO !!

I decided to eat here based on the reviews. The atmosphere is very lovely and the prices seemed good. The restaurant is out door with fans in the ceiling for airflow circulation. However the quality of the food and drinks were not. I ordered a Mai Thai cocktail which did not taste good at all - it tasted like pure sirup with alcohol.

For starter, I ordered spring rolls which tasted good. The main course was chicken in sweet and sour and I could not manage to finish it. The chicken was very dry and several of the bites tasted like "old meat" - so I was forced to spit it back out again. The staff kept watch over me while eating without doing anything about it. It felt like I was sitting on display and being talked about behind my back - to my face. I didn't say anything to the staff as I didn't want to be bothering and difficult. In addition, I wanted to see how attentive they were towards their customers.

Seriously the best Thai food my family and I ever had on the Koh Samui Island! We were told that the restaurant was originally named Romantic Bamboo, and after the daughter of the owner became chef, the restaurant changed its name to Silver Spoon. Food was so delicious, each dish is amazing, and the price is very reasonable, a lot cheaper than all rest of the restaurants we had been on the island. Very authentic Thai restaurant, the chef is a beautiful young lady and she came out to greet us after our meal to make sure we are satisfied with everything. The waitress even brought us her homemade sweet dessert to us for free. They were so nice that you couldn’t imagine.
