I went there because of the reviews and also because they have Eggs Benedict on their menu which is something I have ordered for many years whenever I go out for breakfast somewhere and they have it. I have also made it at home many times. I've had it over a hundred times for sure... that's how big of a fan I am.
Unfortunately the sauce was split and the taste was way off also. Just the strangest Eggs Benedict I have ever had. Not sure how a chef could serve a split sauce at a restaurant. The bread was odd also.
I also had an iced latte. This is also something I always have in the summer time and also in Thailand. It had the strangest flavor I have ever experienced. It seemed almost like goats milk. The manager offered a replacement which I agreed to. Unfortunately the second one was also weird. Can't explain it but just a weird taste that didn't want to leave my mouth.
So basically I had 1 sip of each of the coffees (I still have a weird taste in my mouth) and tried to eat at least some of the Eggs Benedict because I was super hungry (didn't want to send it back because of the whole coffee thing before).
Anyway, I have never really had an experience that bad before where I don't eat or drink the stuff that's prepared so I decided to just pay, leave and go elsewhere. The manager did ask how it was so I just said that it was split and not really good. He still proceeded to give me the bill for 445 baht and said people's tastes are just different. I'm pretty sure that split sauce is not a matter of taste and it's easy to see it's off. Taste of course is something that I can't show on a picture sadly.
I wouldn't go there again. The view was nice and the place itself super pretty but for 3 out of 3 things to all go wrong, yeah I don't know. Just a very...
Read moreAmazing place that's hidden and well worth a visit. Just excellent food all around with by far the best service my girlfriend and I had on the island.
We came here after going to Kai Bae beach (which is an excellent beach with super clear water and the best shells and instantly-accessible reefs on the island) and my girlfriend found this place. Take a turn beside the row of buildings right under the sign for Cabana Koh Chang and pass this large building on your left that's missing its walls, and when you come to a small bridge crossing a stream, cross over it. Then, walk ahead and then turn left and head towards a pool you'll see, and you'll be seated.
The pool here can be used by all customers of the resort and restaurant, just ask the owner and he'll let you swim. I recommend taking a seat on the rocky peninsula overlooking the ocean, and getting a smoothie or fresh coconut for a drink.
I ordered the Bo Bun, and it was incredible. The pork neck and pork meatball (there's plenty) are very tasty, and the nuoc mam sauce on top is perfect, and the whole meal (which is sizable) is only 275 Baht. A deal.
My girlfriend ordered the tomato, basil and mozzarella panini (170 Baht) and similarly loved her sandwich, along with a watermelon/mint drink. Very good experience - amazing restaurant...
