Seafood reataurant right on the waterfront. You can dine on the western style dining table or Japanese style sit on the mat dining on the water edge. Restaurant wasn’t busy when I visited Saturday night. Ordered cocktails to start, I would say solid drinks at reasonable price, One of the best gin& tonic I’ve had in a while, a kind you’d make it at home yourself. Ordered steamed prawns, Some kind of baby lobster tail with garlic, baby squid sour and spicy soup. Even though we didnt order any crab dish, I think they specialize in crabs as the steam rice we ordered came out molded in a carb shape. We had three different server/food runner serving our table through out the dinner. Main reason I wanted to dine here was to see firefly spectacle afterward, and true to the word, they had a boat cruising along the mangrove area not too far from the restaurant for restaurant guests. Since I have never seen firefly in my measly existence on this earth, I was awed by a spectacle of firefly diaplay helmed by expert pontoon boat captain who only had two passenger sitting on a makeshift plastic chairs on a middle of deck( I thought it sort of looked like a Christmas tree light, perhaps it could’ve been fake?, dunno). Anyway it was a good experience. About $60 for food and drinks, kinda expensive in Thailand standard but seeing firefly display whether fake or real was well...
Read moreI had dinner at Iyara Seafood in Koh Chang and it was such a memorable experience. The restaurant is right on the water, built on wooden stilts, and the vibe is super peaceful—perfect for watching the sunset. We ordered the fried seabass in tamarind sauce, prawn glass noodle salad, and a spicy vegetable curry, and honestly, everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. The seabass was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the salad had just the right amount of spice. It’s not the cheapest place on the island, but the food quality and the atmosphere totally made it worth it.
What really made the night special was the free firefly boat ride they offered after dinner. Floating down a quiet mangrove canal in the dark with little lights flickering in the trees—it was magical, like something out of a movie. The staff were friendly and attentive without being pushy, and even though it got busy, the service stayed smooth. If you’re in Koh Chang and want a seafood dinner with a view and a little something extra, I’d definitely...
Read moreWe tried a few seafood restaurants in Koh Chang. This one was pretty mediocre - servings was smaller in comparison and yet more expensive. Service was fast but it was hard to get the attention of any of the staff, even though there were so many of them. Steamed squid in lemon has to be the best dish we had, very fresh and had a kick. We also had stir fried clams, but a good number of them were closed and cannot be eaten. Soft shell crab portion was pretty small. We came for dinner and there was not much of a view as the riverside...
