Don’t be discouraged of the restaurants location by the main road! This is a hidden gem!

Great place to experience local cuisine in a semi fine dining fashion. The owner was really welcoming and passionate about showing off local ingredients. I recommend trying their drinks made of locally sourced ingredients. We had the mango steen and jasmine for pre drinks, which was really nice.

We tried the set menu consisting of local dishes. The food was well made and beautifully presented. The food was exotic and weirdly good. Some of the dishes was too local and exotic for my European taste. The boiled peanuts, the soup and some of the chilli paste was a bit too unique for my liking. However the pork belly tasted really nice, and the fried sea bass was well prepared. And don’t miss the homemade ice cream for dessert!

All in all an interesting and tasty way to experience Koh Chang, but be prepared for some unique tastes and at times off putting consistencies if choosing the set menu. We had a wonderful meal here. 5* for several reasons - The quality and freshness of the food is first rate with many of the ingredients being locally sourced or from their own garden behind the restaurant. All the wonderful Thai flavours coming through in the traditionally prepared dishes sat so beautifully together. You can tell how much care and skill has gone into creating every item on the menu, each one a treat. The venue is a clean cool space and something of a history lesson with the ceiling depicting the last great sea battle between Thailand and the French back in the early 70s. The exterior has a comfy seating area for more informal eating and a view over the neighbouring night market. Our host was most gratious, happy to help us to choose our meal and provide a wealth of information about each dish, the history of the establishment and to have a good chat about life in general. I had lunch with my wife yesterday, and I must say this restaurant is a true gem on Koh Chang!

Food: Authentic local cuisine with traditional flavors. Each dish has its own story. We ordered four dishes: a seasonal appetizer (แมงกะพรุนดองอินทรีย์), two main courses (แกงหมูชะมวง and ชุดน้ำพริกมะอึก), and a dessert (กล้วยไข่เชื่อม). Every dish was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious!

Service: The service is exceptional! The owner and staff thoughtfully recommended dishes based on our preferences, and their hospitality reminded me of Michelin-starred restaurants in Bangkok.

Atmosphere: The restaurant is clean and has a relaxed ambiance, making it an enjoyable place for lunch.
