This restaurant was so disappointing after reading the positive reviews. I'll start by saying the cocktails are good and not too expensive, however the food was some of the worst I've had in my travels to Thailand. I ordered Beef Panang. The sauce the "meat" (if you can call it meat) came in was so watery with absolutely no flavour. And the "beefsteak" was grey, chewey and with no flavour either. I sent it back after two bites. My wife ordered the Massaman, one of her all time favourite dishes, the sauce in that too was also so watery, lacking any real flavour and love. She ate half of it as she was hungry but stated it was the worst Massaman she had ever had. I complained to the waiter, he did not understand, so another waiter came over and offered me something else which I declined. I informed I would not be paying for the beef panang. The bill arrived with the beef panang not been checked off. I had to get the waiters attention again to get it removed, which he did. Thai cuisine is easily my favourite in the world. We ate at knife and fork. The restaurant within Magic Garden, the restaurant was very full with lots of large tables at 8pm, the two lovely barmen explained the wait would be around 50minutes, but as we were wanting a burger we thought we would wait. They were both very lovely and understood we would wait patiently. We ordered two red wines, which surprisingly came room temp. Most come freezing cold, so that was good for us, the wine was really nice. We ordered chicken wings and burgers, my husband ordered the blue cheese and I got the cheeseburger, both were very tasty juicy and just what we wanted. I can honestly say the best we tasted in Koh Chang, the chicken wings were also a delight, they had a crispy fried garlic on the skin. Not over powering but were flavouful.
