Oodie's Place — Restaurant in Trat Province

The band at this place is amazing, great musicians and fun ! We came as a group of 6 after many visits for many years. Why there's no one for dinner became evident rather quickly. We tried to order some italien wine from the menu but all "no have". So the staff came with 3 bottles, which they probably kept somewhere in the backyard. As we like wine and we all are from wine countries, we chose the most expensive bottle, a Bordeaux for THB 1450.- the staff opened the bottle without tasting and filled our glasses. OK so far. After we cheered and wanted to drink we got a stingy vingeray smell far from a wine smell. So we told the staff that their wine is off, after which they scared to their bones looked to the as I would describe her "toothless dragon" behind the counter. The old dragon dismissed them immediately, so we talked to her directly and said "the wine is off" actually totally off... her response was grumpy mumbling and only showing us her back from then on. We ordered plenty of food in the hope that we eventually get acknowledged and told her one more time but she then decide to insult us and told us she drinks wine everyday and this wine is "good" without coming close to our table looking at the wine or giving it a hint of a sniff. After this experience our evening was quite spoiled and we asked for the bill which of course also incl. the bottle of Bordeaux for THB 1450.- sadly our friend paid for it to avoid any more insults or right out aggression towards us. !! OUR RECOMMENDATION STAY AWAY FROM ANY OF THEIR DRINKS AND ONLY COME FOR...

Terribly lousy cheese pizza. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I couldn't taste the cheese or the sauce, and the crust was more like a bad cracker. Obviously they don't have a proper pizza oven. I came for the live music anyway. The trio of Thai guys did great playing western rock and pop. Good singers and good players. I liked all the little fills by the drummer. They let tourists get up, and that's when I bid adieu as a fat guy sang a Santana song off his iPad. The other big turnoff is they allow smoking, which is disgusting in a restaurant. Some smokers stepped into the sidewalk because they know they're disgusting, but the stench still blows right in...

This is a place I always visit when I am on Ko Chang. Good food, Good life music friendly staff... I can recommend to anyone who likes night life... There is a house band playing every night and usually Oodie picks up the guitar at some point and plays the blues. There are also guest musicians and with a bit of luck you will get great music for free with your dinner and drinks. The food is excellent and in regards to the entertainment not expensive especially if you choose Thai dishes. The service is very friendly especially one they get to know you because you show up every night and that's not unlikely since Oodie's is one of the nicest night life...
