Cafe in Law — Restaurant in Udon Thani Province

I was really looking forward to going to this cafe based upon the photos and reviews I saw on Google maps, but I came away a little disappointed after visiting.

I ordered a hot caramel macchiato. It tasted like a plain cappuccino. There was no sweetness and no hint or sight of caramel.

Perhaps the shop uses a caramel syrup and perhaps the staff simply didn't add very much, but I couldn't taste any caramel at all and was very disappointed.

I also ordered mocha chocolate macadamia cake. Based on the name I expected a rich chocolatey taste but it wasn't there.

The chocolate cake was light and spongy but certainly nothing special. The macadamias were good. It was a perfectly fine piece of cake, but it just didn't impress.

So I believe my expectations were too high for this cafe.

I will return and order more items so I can do an update to this review. Perhaps I will have better luck ordering other things.

There are plenty of places to sit at this cafe, both inside and outside. Front patio, several sections inside, and then an upstairs area with a small balcony.

The kitchen is a separate building in the back and you can look through the large windows and watch them prepare the food and pastries.

The shop was clean and neat.

Very little English was spoken by the staff when I was there. I was able to determine that they serve food starting at noon but since I was there in the morning was unable to order.

There was no English menu for ordering food, only for ordering cakes.

There's a small parking lot for about four automobiles in front of the shop, but otherwise you must find street parking.

Good vib. Inside decoration was simplicity and spacious. Cakes was above average. I ordered a brownie and it’s sweetness was just great, not too sweet.

Other orders includes local dishes, lightly spicy vermicelli salad, prawn deep fried paste that is crispy and great taste with honey dip sauce and fry noodles salad with mince pork was exciting too. Ordered an espresso and americano with their in-house coffee bean mixture, taste great if you like a slight bitter taste at the end.

Cafe is Law is as good as most and, a cut above, many other coffee shops (of which there are many ...), in Udorn Thanee.

There is parking is available onsite, as well as out-front. 🚙

One can choose seating options inside and out (front, side and rear), as well as on ground level, plus upstairs (including a small deck) too.

The cafe has a cotemporary facade, which seamlessly blends into a more retro fit (including realia from decades past - check out the gramophone) once you step inside.
