We recently had the pleasure of visiting The Mill, located at Palolem Beach in Goa, India, and we must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the friendly and welcoming owner to the attentive and courteous staff, the restaurant left a lasting impression on us. 1. Throughout our visit, the staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist with any questions or recommendations. Their genuine hospitality truly added to our overall dining experience. 2. Amey and Shyam: Two standout individuals at The Mill were Amey and Shyam. They went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was exceptional. Their friendly and enthusiastic nature made the visit even more enjoyable. 3. Gluten-free Dark Forest Chocolate Cake: One of the highlights of our meal was the gluten-free chocolate cake. It was simply divine! Moist, rich, and decadent, it melted in our mouths with every bite. The combination of the chocolatey goodness and the gluten-free aspect made it a truly remarkable dessert. 4. A Plethora of Delights: The Mill offers a wide range of delectable dishes, and we had the opportunity to try a variety of them. The coconut and pineapple curry was bursting with flavor, perfectly balancing the sweetness of the pineapple with the creamy coconut base. The potato wedges were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, accompanied by a tantalizing garlic aioli dip. We also relished the gluten-free burgers, chickpea toast, Juno's incredible coconut gelato, and the hearty lentil stew. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. 5. Unforgettable Potato Wedges: We must make a special mention of the garlicky potato wedges served at The Mill. They were absolutely outstanding! The golden-brown wedges were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The garlic aioli dip elevated the flavor profile, creating a mouthwatering combination that was truly out of this world. In conclusion, our experience at The Mill in Palolem Beach, Goa, was nothing short of fantastic. The friendly owner and staff, particularly Amey and Shyam, added a personal touch to our dining experience. They left us impressed with the culinary expertise of the restaurant. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit to The Mill, as the combination of excellent service, delightful dishes, and a welcoming ambiance make it a must-visit restaurant!

- Ambience & Location: • The cafe has a cosy vibe and is conveniently located just after the market. • It attracts a lot of foreign visitors, which might explain the style of the menu. -Food & Pricing: •Sriracha Chilli Scrambled Eggs with Paratha: Despite the fancy presentation, the dish was bland and underwhelming. -Chapathi with Scrambled Eggs & Cauliflower Garnish and priced at ₹350 for a small serving, the flavor and portion left much to be desired. • Pancakes with Cream: Also priced at ₹350, this dish was similarly disappointing in taste. • Smoothie (Cacao, Peanut, Banana Date): At ₹220, the smoothie was a slight redeeming factor—better than the rest, though a bit thin. - Overall Impression: • The overall experience felt over-hyped and seemed tailored more to a foreign palate than to local Indian tastes. • A notable observation: The staff were noticeably slower to take orders from Indian customers, even when the cafe was only half-filled, whereas foreign guests were greeted and served first. • It was especially disappointing that we had to call out for our order while foreigners were promptly attended to. • If you’re looking to experience the cafe’s ambience, it might be best to opt for a drink rather than a full meal. -Note: This review reflects my personal experience and is shared as a friendly suggestion for potential visitors.

The Mill by Palm Forest at Palolem Beach is an absolute gem! Tucked away amidst lush greenery, the ambiance here is peaceful and refreshing, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The decor is beautifully rustic and minimalist, with comfortable seating, natural wood finishes, and an open-air feel that makes you feel connected to the environment around you. The food was exceptional and made with fresh, quality ingredients. We had the Zanzibar Burger, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the Chickpea Tuna Superfood Wrap, which was both filling and healthy. The Banana Dates Smoothie was refreshing and creamy, perfect for a warm day, and the Vietnamese Coffee was just the right blend of strong and smooth, providing a delicious boost. Our server, Himanshu, was attentive, warm, and ensured that everything was perfect, giving helpful recommendations and making us feel right at home. His service was genuinely thoughtful and added to the overall experience. The Mill by Palm Forest offers a great mix of flavors with a focus on healthy and satisfying dishes. For anyone visiting Palolem Beach, this spot is a must-visit for both its fantastic food and inviting ambiance.

During my recent visit to Palolem I decided to have brunch at The Mill restaurant and my experience was quite disappointing. The ambiance of The Mill is undoubtedly its highlight. The restaurant has beautifully converted an old Goan house into a cafe retaining the charm of the traditional architecture with a rustic interior. However, the lack of sufficient fans for good airflow made it quite uncomfortable. The menu was very limited offering few options to choose from. When we ordered the quality of the food was disappointing. The fruit salad was served with fruits that were not completely peeled, the pancake was flat and not puffy as expected and the pineapple juice was particularly bad. Additionally, The Mill seems to be an Instagram-hyped place that doesn’t live up to its online reputation. The staff was not welcoming at all and seemed to focus primarily on the foreigner crowd making us feel neglected. Overall, The Mill is a place you can avoid during your visit to Palolem. Despite its charming ambiance, the lackluster food and poor service make it not worth the hype.

We visited this place with big expectations after looking at lots of good reviews and reels over Instagram but it was just an okayish experience. We ordered carrot cake, tropical pancake, Vietnamese coffee and flat white (with an extra espresso shot). Vietnamese coffee was great but consistency was missing because we ordered it again and it wasn’t as great as the first one. Tropical pancake was good. Flat white was very okay in taste while carrot cake was horribly sweet. About the ambience, they need to expand the place because it feels pretty crowded even with less people. Overall, I personally felt the hype over this place is not justified. Considering food and coffee prices in other cafes/restaurants in Palolem area, both prices are higher at Mills but the taste is barely worth the price. PS: Brownie points for the cute doggo in the cafe ! Edit 1: Forgot to mention that one of our orders was missed. Edit 2: You can’t justify everything with so called “New Zealand food style”. We had Vietnamese coffee twice from your place and both tasted was different.

After countless trips to Palolem, I finally dropped into The Mill Palolem - a vegetarian and vegan cafe in a house that was once a rice mill. The space is one where you can spend a few hours lazing around on the massive sofas, working, reading, catching up, and enjoying some nourishing food. Being an old house the space retains every bit of its old look and feel - which means that modern comforts like air-conditioning are absent. Wooden doors and windows, a tiled roof with plenty of skylights, gunny sack cushions and even a tiny deity room from where the agarbatti wafts through the air and all through the cafe makes the ambience stand out. The menu has breakfast options, smoothie bowls; pasta, soups, pancakes, juices and a range of teas and coffees. While the dishes I tried were a hit-and-miss, the dessert I picked was so good! I chose a carrot cake, after much deliberation since all their desserts looked fantastic. Service is quick. Would love to go back (on a day that’s not hot) to sample more from their menu.
