Very nice located and great in summer but on a rainy day, they seem to like to try and squeeze as much tables as possible in side. We had to move our table a few times to make space for people to get through. It was very unhygienic because walking through a very thin table gap sidwards and the backside against the food, just seems to sound horrible. I had the fish fillet and they didn’t take the bones out nor fried it through so I also had probably swallowing it to realise there were bones. I was a bit disappointed.

Food was great and quite pretty too. Very big portions. Prices more than decent and location ok. The outdoor tables were under an attack from wasps which bothered me a lot but it's not their fault for that. The only truly bad thing was our waiter. He left the plates on the table for ages after we finished which attracted flies on top of the wasps and he took his time with bringing the check too. Overall an ok place with really good food but they could do better.

Nice restaurant with a focus on potatoes. Every menu item has something with potatoes, i like that twist a lot. Food tasted great, fresh and with good ingredients! The staff is friendly, helpful and fast. The waiter even stepped through the tab with me, that's great! The restaurant filled up quickly, so it is a very good sign for the quality here ;) The atmosphere is functional and modern.

Das Ambiente läd zum "Sitzen bleiben" ein. Unsere Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Imponiert hat uns, dass er sich alle Gerichte und Getränke richtig merken konnte ohne es aufschreiben zu müssen. Das Essen kam wirklich schnell und fast zeitgleich (wir waren 13 Leute) es war durchgehend sehr gut. Alle waren begeistert. Das Lokal ansich ist sehr sauber und und die Angestellten an diesem Tag pflegten einen freundlichen, zuvorkommend Umgang. Leider ist aber das Reservieren eines Tisches ein umöglicher Zustand. Ich habe mehrfach (mehr als 7 mal) und zu jeder Tageszeit versucht anzurufen und einen Tisch für 14 Leute zu reservieren, es hat nie jemand abgenommen. Auch per Email hat sich keiner gemeldet. Erst durch einen Umweg über das Hotel konnte ich jemanden erreicht. Das was ich dann am Telefon mitbekommen hatte, war dann nicht wirklich kundenfreundlich. Einzig allein dem Durchhaltevermögen des Angestellten des Hotels zu verdanken, konnte ich einen Tisch reservieren. Darum einen Punkt abzug. Das wäre nicht nötig, würde sich jemand (freundlich) ums Telefon kümmern

Das Restaurant "Tolle Knolle" liegt zentral in Konstanz. Es bietet angenehme, sonnengeschützte Aussenplätze. Es findet sich eine grosse Auswahl an Speisen, die aber nicht unstimmig wirkt. Bisher hat uns jedes Gericht geschmeckt, es wird trotz der zahlreichen Gäste perfekt zubereitet. Der Service ist ausgesprochen gut. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, professionell und korrekt. Getränkte waren wenige Minuten nach der Bestellung bei uns. Auch das Essen wird in angemessener Zubereitungszeit an den Tisch gebracht (20 Minuten). Wirklich lecker. Zwei Gäste aus Arbon, die sich neben uns platzierten und mit denen wir uns gut unterhielten, wählten gleich das selbe Gericht. Kleines Manko, aufgrund des Personalmangels wird die leckere Kartoffelpizza erst ab 13.00 Uhr serviert. Da es aber soviel gute Auswahl hat, war es kein Problem. Wir waren froh, wieder gut in einem ansprechenden Ambiente zu essen, da unser letzter Besuch in einem Take away ähnlichen Restaurant in Altnau eine Katastrophe war. Bei der tollen Knolle hat mal wieder alles gepasst.

Had a nice generous Nordic plate with an oven baked potato, sour cream and shrimps in a tasty sauce. The sauce wasn't heavy and creamy at all, it was more a mediterranean flavourful light sauce that connected elegantly with the sour cream of the potato. All in all a happy combination. Good coffee and friendly service, too.
