Eagle's Restaurant — Restaurant in Port of Spain

The customer service was good, staff was friendly and honest. The guy cashing was polite and not bad on the eyes, however we were not impressed with the dimsum.

There were 2 items that I would recommend and that is the pork spareribs which is a 6/10 AND THE PEPPER SAUCE! 10/10. Everything else that we tried was rated under a 4 but please be your own judge- My dim sum ratings are compared and rated based on my experiences from other local dim sum restaurants. The place is quite outdated and the down stairs area had a lingered smell of bug spray. Which should have been my first indication to leave, but I didn't want to ruin the night for everyone, altho other people in the dinner party had similar observation, but noone said anything for the sake of being polite until after the fact.

The quality of the food as of late has been a miss for me; it's been oily and sometimes there's a weird aftertaste particularly with the meat dishes. Some of the more seemingly appealing dishes turn out quite contrary...like chicken with cashews and mushrooms...I thought it may have been somewhere along the lines of a cashew sauce with mushrooms as opposed to being a boatload of christophine with some carrots and mushrooms with whole cashews strewn on top and a "measurable" amount of chicken bits in-between. Eagles offer a good dim sum experience that's sure to please. The majority of the items we tried were quite tasty, with the fried seafood rice noodles being a definite standout - very very tasty.

Our waitress was very helpful and kind, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. The upstairs dining area is basic yet effective, providing a comfortable spot for a meal and to relax or chat.

Overall, a good experience and will definitely be returning. Just a heads-up, parking can be a bit tricky as there's no dedicated lot; you'll need to find street parking...
