Date of Visit: July 13, 2024 I have been a loyal patron of Good Luck for many years, consistently enjoying the food and service. Unfortunately, my recent visit on July 13, 2024, was nothing short of disappointing due to the behavior of one staff member. From the moment we entered, the experience was marred by poor service. We were served by a mature-looking worker with a bob hairstyle, whom I had not encountered before. As soon as we walked in, we noticed her lack of enthusiasm. She made no attempt to greet us or guide us to our seats. Instead, she busied herself with something behind the counter, ignoring our presence. After waiting for a few minutes and not receiving any attention, we raised our hand to get her attention. To our surprise, she simply waved us off with a dismissive hand gesture, indicating that she was not ready to attend to us. We were taken aback by this rude behavior but decided to wait a bit longer. Eventually, she approached our table with a scowl and an evident lack of interest in serving us. I politely asked if she was ready to take our order, to which she responded with a curt and irritable tone. As she took our order, her rudeness was palpable. She seemed impatient and disinterested, barely making eye contact and cutting us off as we tried to specify our choices. When she brought us our drinks, there were no glasses of ice or straws provided, which was unusual based on my previous experiences at Good Luck. When our food finally arrived, the quality was, as always, commendable. However, the noodles were ice cold, which was quite disappointing. I decided to request some oyster sauce to improve the meal. When I made the request, she did not acknowledge it verbally, instead, she walked away with an annoyed expression. A few minutes later, she returned with a dirty bowl of oyster sauce, slamming it on the table without a word. At this point, my husband and I had lost our appetite due to the continuous display of poor service and disrespect. We decided to pack up our food and leave. I went up to the counter to ask for a takeaway box, which she provided without a single word of apology or courtesy. As we approached the counter to pay, she continued to display her lack of professionalism and rudeness. The entire experience left us feeling quite upset and unappreciated as customers. I have never encountered such treatment at Good Luck before and sincerely hope that the management addresses this issue promptly. The restaurant has always been known for its good food and excellent service, and it would be unfortunate for this reputation to be tarnished by the actions of one employee.

Very nice service. Friendly hosts. Center of the Avenue. Open late. Safe. 5 Stars for all of this But it's Not Authentic Chinese food infact far from it. I ordered Hot and Sour soup that tasted like Sambhar from South India. Maybe some kind of Trini Variation but definitely Not Hot and Sour soup. The shrimp roll was edible but again different from anything Chinese I have had from Hong Kong to China to India to Central America to USA to Canada. Finally the Fried Rice Noodle and Chicken Combo was also Not Chinese. It had bland noodles with some fried rice and Jamacian style chicken on it. Again at 3am it was edible and nice to get something in my stomach but it wasn't Authentic Chinese food!

Nice Atmosphere, almost felt out of place as I was the only Native Trinidadian in the Restaurant. It was filled with Asian Chinese but it felt wonderful being around them and observing how they ate, what they were eating and how they spoke Enjoyed the short time I spent there, will definitely return!! Ohh and their Prices are half of Me Aisia Restaurant. I was at Me Asia first and my Combo was costing $155.00ttd which I declined and came across to Good Luck which is 2 buildings down and my same exact Combo cost was $80.00ttd.

Enjoyed all of our dishes at Good Luck. Helpful, pleasant wait staff walked us through the menu options.

Glass lazy susan in the middle of our table makes it easy and fun to share dishes.

We especially enjoyed the pepper shrimp which is offered with skin on or off. Due to the New Years Holiday they were out of the Hong Kong Chicken Wings which we heard were excellent.

Drink menu available Dim Sum available

Located on Arapita Avenue which is busy but we found parking quite easily as it seems to turn over quickly.

Not a newly decorated or designed pace but table cloth and some expected flourishes were enough as a backdrop.

Misses - they did not have music on and while I didn't totally miss it I think something 'on theme' in the background not loud or distracting would have added to the ambiance.

Good Luck Chinese restaurant met and exceeded my expectations. I can't imagine the difficulty of managing a restaurant day in and day out and read some of the reviews about disappointing service. That's unfortunate but our experience was that of friendly, knowledgeable staff and food that was presented nicely and did not disappoint.

Is Good Luck the best Chinese restaurant on Arabita Avenue? I can't believe the judge of that but it certainly is a restaurant I would visit again.

A person I was dining with asked if we could agree to come back soon for the pepper shrimp and Hong Kong...

We ordered takeout just before they closed on Saturday, paid for large shrimp fried rice, small chicken in ginger and chives, small beef in ginger and chives and a small chicken corn soup. Came there just as they closed, midnight, paid, sat there and had the soup then proceeded home. When we opened the food we got all small portions of food and I paid for a large portion of rice,it wasn’t satisfactory to what we usually have there when dining in. I was already upset because it didn’t have enough food for everyone. When I called them the next day and told them about it, there wasn’t a positive response. We went in on Monday just before closing again, the food wasn’t satisfactory either. Didn’t taste as it usually does. Worse case scenario is that when I told the same cashier from Saturday night incident she pretended she couldn’t remember and didn’t adjust the bill to deduct the amount for the rice. Their dishonesty isn’t something I promote. I would never recommend anyone to eat in a place...
