Update: After posting my review, the manager, Matthew, personally reached out to explain that the metallic taste in the Steel Pan stout was due to a CO₂ leak that has since been addressed. He also assured me I would be reimbursed on my next visit, which I greatly appreciate. I respect that the management took the time to follow up, acknowledge the issue, and offer to make it right. I’ll be returning to give them another chance, and I’m hopeful my next visit will better reflect the high standard they aim to uphold. I visited Tommy’s Brewing Company at Movietown, Port of Spain on August 1st 2025, and ordered their Signature Burger along with a Steel Pan stout on tap. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations especially at a price point of $211. The burger arrived cold, as if it had been sitting out for some time. The vegetables inside were very chilled, which made the whole burger feel off. I expected a fresh, hot meal, especially from a place that prides itself on craft burgers and beer. Honestly, it lacked flavor and warmth I would’ve enjoyed a burger from BK more, and that says a lot. The Steel Pan stout had a strong metallic aftertaste and was overly carbonated, which is unusual for a stout. Even though it was on tap, it didn’t taste fresh or well-balanced. I ordered a 16oz and received a 12oz. The stout was also not very cold. Given the reputation of the establishment and the premium pricing, I expected better. I hope they can revisit their quality control and consistency, especially if they want to keep promoting themselves as a top burger and brew spot.

Excellent experience at Tommy's! We popped in for a quick dinner and some drinks. Our waitress Kella was superb, her service was second to none. I told Kella that I was disappointed with a bottle of Small Axe that I bought prevously at the grocery, and she immediately brought me a sample fresh off the tap. It was crisp, light and refreshing - nothing like what I had tasted before. The Sharp Axe cocktail was great. All of their cocktails incorporate Tommy's beer, and they really put thought into their recipes. I'm not a fan of stouts generally, but I did enjoy the Steel Pan stout. It was smooth and barely any bitterness to speak of. My husband couldn't decide which beer to try next so Kella patiently helped us. We did sample a couple of test batches and gave our feedback, it was nice to be part of the process! Now for food - the Korean barbecue wings were amazing! There was the right balance of sweet and spice, and the fries were crispy and hot. We also ordered calamari, which while the portion size was large and it tasted fine, I found that the batter was a bit too much and could've been more flavourful. The calamari itself was tasty. Oh and the house made sauces! Wow! The tartar sauce was so good, and I don't usually like tartar sauce. Thank you Kella, and Tommy's, for a wonderful experience.

I visited Tommy’s on a Saturday night and it left me with mixed reviews. Upon reaching, no server was sent to our table after which I went to request one - after which she came 15 minutes later. I’m certain it was no fault of her own- the restaurant was more than likely understaffed. The ambiance was quite pretty, both inside and outside. We ordered coconut battered shrimp ($99) and fries and a flight of their beers (4x 5oz glasses) (starting at $64). The food didn’t take too long to arrive, however it left both me and my friend with whom I shared the shrimp with a very upset stomach, unfortunately. Another friend, who ordered something like a chicken wrap (can’t remember the exact name) didn’t really enjoy his dish either. However the beers themselves did taste quite good and we did enjoy tasting their wide variety. I would consider going back for the drinks, not the food.

Service was absolutely terrible. We waited maybe 45 min or so until someone came to ask us what we wanted. Guy was incredibly apathetic, rude, and didn't understand me. He messed up my order several times after repeating it (a flight of 4 beers). 20 minutes later he brings our drinks out and gives everyone the wrong drink. Tells me what I ordered (wrong and bold). Then immediately walks away and I had to holler at him to let him know we would like to order food.

Food was actually really good as were the beers (mislabeled though). Dude never came by once to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything. We had to hail out another (very nice) server and she helped us.

Never came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks after finishing ours twenty minutes earlier. Came to clear our plates and immediately walks away again so I had to holler to ask if we can to get another drink please. He brought them and again messed it all up.

Then we finished our drinks and he never came back. We would have liked to order more but alas.

He was walking by so we asked for the bill. When bill came, again he was rude and apathetic. When we all paid he walked away. No "good night" no thank you. Just ripped the receipt and stormed off. Terrible service. Unfortunate because the other servers seemed to be friendly and doing a good job . This guy should definitely not be working in the service industry.

Anyway, food was great, beers were great, vibes were good, service was dismal. I would go again for sure but would definitely ask for different server if he was ours. Probably the rudest server I've had in Trinidad. He's lucky there was a...
