For the aesthetic choice, Trader Jack's is top tier it has a nice ambiance as well as a sense of class that is unique to its trademark. The rebranding that was done is definitely a big progressive step and well thought out. Interior decor is exquisite and makes you want to take pictures to remember the great experience that you're about to have, and I will share with you. Arriving there, I had my reservations, we were seated inside at a table with enough room for the four of us. The waiter promptly came and introduced himself and gave us time to make a decision on our drinks and appetizers. Chicken tenders, cinnamon plantains, garlic cheese bread, and fully loaded fries those are the appetizers that we ordered.
The portion size was so big that we all went home with food from our appetizers we love that. For our main dish entrée we had, 2 orders of buttermilk fried chicken (comes with 3pcs) and a side of "seasoned fries (think they forgot to season them tbh) along with 1 order of jerk chicken alfredo and I can't recall the last order for my other friend.
The only issue that we had that was major for some people was that the buttermilk fried chicken was on the salty side unfortunately that was how the batter was to make so we weren't able to get it done over but it does not take away from the experience where I know that that chicken was BUSSING!!!! Ps the two ladies thought it was salty not me though but you win some you lose some.
We told the waiter about the salty chicken experience and they are kind enough to remove it from our bill (and table). only because we did not eat much off of the plate.
Overall I would say go and try it out I think you'll give it a...
Read moreAt first we were very excited about how well done the decor was done with nice lights. As we entered we asked to have a look at the menus as we were not aware of what type of food Trader Jack did.
A huge turn off was when asked for certain items on the menu but was informed by the waitress that they did not have the ingredients to make the items that we asked for.
It took a little while to get our meals and then was again turned off by how oily the fish and chips. Two persons that had fish and chips left back more than half of the fish. Fish was made with Salmon another turn off as the expectation was it should have been Cod fish.
In addition, to the fish being oily one person got a piece of a wood skewer measuring approximately 2 inches within the fish. We showed the supervisor by pressing on the Fish how the oil came up ontop of the fork.
This was communicated to the waitress and the supervisor came and said that they will give a discount. Not thinking too much about it, when we received the bill we got all of a 15% discount on all meals amounting to $74.40. We were still charged service charge. We were offered a drink or deserts but by that time we were completely turned off.
When we got home, one of the persons that ate the fish and chips got an upset stomach and has been using the bathroom.
The meals that we had the the restaurant everyone commented among ourselves that it was not that great tasting. Again with the expectation that of an establishment like this.
In my opinion the overall experience was not desirable. And honestly, I plan to call them and lodge a further complaint about this. And if necessary, report to...
Read moreUpon being seated and attended to by our waitress we were promptly informed of the menu items which were not available. This was not much of an issue since the menu is pretty eclectic.
Food Okay. Absolutely nothing special and nothing to return for. The signature salad was bland. The rice of the signature sushi was hard. My friend ordered the ribeye steak and we noticed that the charred broccoli was not served. We informed a server who made his way to the back but did not return. The charred broccoli was never received and after a second query to our waitress we were informed that there was in fact no broccoli. (We were not informed of this before) We were thereafter presented with a salad only after a request to be provided with a side in the alternative.
Drinks The heavenly dragon and passion fruit nojito were delicious. However, the mojito tasted like sprite while it's counterpart the strawberry mojito tasted like club soda with a splash of strawberry mix. We had a few sips and determined that the mojitos may win that battle and live another day.
Service It appeared that there was an absence of waitress and/or a staffing issue. Our waitress was missing for long periods of time and we resorted to asking other random servers for items such as for example forks which were taken after our appetizer and not replaced.
Complimentary Birthday cake Described as a stale chocolate kiss cake. Spoons/forks were also not provided to consume/share.
Ambience Lovely
