Very nice restaurant. There is authentic Indian cuisine as well as Chinese offerings. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable with an Indian theme all round. In terms of food there is a wide variety of dishes present. The menu is suited for vegetarians with their own section. Each meat for example has many ways it can be done so reading through the menu if you're a first time user with not much experience with India based Indian food it may be hard to determine a suitable meal. The Indian food here to note is very different from what is served locally so keep that in mind before going. The food here is styled with spices ranging in terms of hotness. I would recommend reading before hand different types of Indian food styles with their meaning if you are unfamiliar mainly because certain terms are not self explanatory. If you have trouble deciding the friendly staff is always willing to assist if the need arises. Overall the food is very delicious and different meats can be ordered many different ways to content even the pickiest of eaters. The Chinese menu is just as good. One small caveat is wait times for food are a bit longer than usual but it is often worth it. A good idea is to make a reservation as seating may or may not be available for the casual walk in. Prices are varied but generally around the $100 TT mark for any meats, sides will be purchased separately such as Naan. Based on my experience serving sizes are suited to one person, they tend to run a bit small. Also there is a bar for anyone who may be interested in that sort of thing. Generally this is a very nice authentic Indian and Chinese restaurant and is...
Read moreI had a rather disappointing experience at Palki restaurant recently. I stopped by just before heading to the gym, wearing my comfortable Adidas 3/4 length pants, t-shirt, and Crocs. My intention was to inquire about a take-away order. However, upon entering, I was met with an uncomfortable atmosphere. One employee greeted me hastily, giving off the impression that I was not welcome. To add to my discomfort, two employees in the back were openly staring at me as if I were an alien. It seemed that their judgment was solely based on my choice of gym attire. It's disheartening that even in 2023, people are quick to pass judgments based on clothing.
The staff's behavior was unnecessary and unwelcoming, making me feel out of place. It's truly ridiculous that in this day and age, we're still dealing with such narrow-minded attitudes. I couldn't help but feel disappointed that my positive previous experiences at Palki were tarnished by this incident. It's a shame because I'm a fan of their delicious Aloo Jeera. I hope the restaurant addresses such behaviors, ensuring that all patrons are treated with respect and kindness, regardless of...
Read moreThe food here is fantastic but the service was horrendous.
We got the sweet and sour chicken, hong Kong chicken, shrimp green curry, fried wontons, and steamed wontons. All the food was super tasty and really good portions. The menu was also GINORMOUS. they had Indian, hakka, and Thai. So many choices
Where it went downhill is the service. It took us an HOUR to get the food which is insanely wrong. Secondly the waiters really don't pay attention to you. It took them forever to take our order and just to refill our drinks took us getting up and going to get them. This really took away from the overall experience.
Overall, great food but service...
