Oh boy oh boy was this place a delightful surprise! My best friends and I had brunch plans at another establishment who, despite confirming days before, were closed when we arrived. A quick search for brunch places nearby and a phone call led us to Myrtle's. When we arrived we were instantly impressed by the very quaint decor outside. The colours were vibrant and inviting (and matched my dress 😂!). We walked in and they had an Easter brunch special on however we opted to order from the buffet instead. The chef was there to personally answer any questions we had about the food (and being gluten intolerant i was really happy she was able to guide me on what would be safe for me). We ordered our food and drinks and grabbed a table outside. When the food came, the plating was spectacular! When I tell you it was beautiful! The photos don't do justice but you get the idea. Everything was delicious, and the honey maple pork belly I ordered just melted in my mouth. The food is a bit spendy, but I can't really complain about it. My party of 3 spent just about $800 but it was quite a lovely experience.

Lovely, Caribbean-centric decor (albeit with decidedly uncomfortable seats) with great service and fairly high prices. Unfortunately, the food does not quite match the expectations set. The Jamaican Rice & Peas was overcooked and surprisingly bland (at least compared to other "cooked by Jamaicans" offerings that were experienced in both Trinidad and Jamaica. Other items sampled (for example, the fried plantains) were just OK. With a little more effort (and spices), and a price haircut, this could become a must visit location ... keep trying ... hoping you get it right. 🤞🏽💪🏽

The food was terrible. We got a plate of jerk chicken and rice and peas. My friends and I are from Jamaica and could not even eat the food. For the price the food should be better. The jerk chicken had pepper but no flavor. The rice was way too soft and watery like. When i asked for my money back they said no. This place won’t make it serving this type of food.

We recently visited Myrtle’s New Age Jamaican Local Cuisine, and the experience was enjoyable overall.

The service was a standout—friendly and welcoming, which is quite rare in Trinidad. It immediately set a positive tone for the meal.

I had the oxtails with macaroni pie and rice and peas. While the dish was flavorful and satisfying, it didn’t quite capture the authentic Jamaican essence I was hoping for. My husband tried the lentils, callaloo, and pork belly, which also leaned heavily into Creole-Trini flavors rather than the rich, bold Jamaican taste we expected.

That being said, the food was still good, and the quality of ingredients was evident. If you’re looking for a unique fusion of Caribbean flavors, Myrtle’s is worth a visit. Just don’t expect it to taste like traditional Jamaican cuisine. I will return, but with adjusted...

*Staff welcoming *Great Ambience Food Tasty *Price : Affordable.... considering the quality & service you are getting and market cost for goods + overheads, there are items ranging from $10 all the way up to $150, select what you can afford, Oxtail and Crab are amongst the most expensive foods on the market, there is even a recent documentary done about this on youtube by (David's Been Here), featuring this restaurant and other restaurants worldwide..covering this same topic.. ive noticed, there are meal options for the "working man"for $65, which i like, it shows consideration for all pockets,

all in all , here is a thumbs...
