Oh boy oh boy was this place a delightful surprise! My best friends and I had brunch plans at another establishment who, despite confirming days before, were closed when we arrived. A quick search for brunch places nearby and a phone call led us to Myrtle's.
When we arrived we were instantly impressed by the very quaint decor outside. The colours were vibrant and inviting (and matched my dress 😂!). We walked in and they had an Easter brunch special on however we opted to order from the buffet instead.
The chef was there to personally answer any questions we had about the food (and being gluten intolerant i was really happy she was able to guide me on what would be safe for me). We ordered our food and drinks and grabbed a table outside.
When the food came, the plating was spectacular! When I tell you it was beautiful! The photos don't do justice but you get the idea. Everything was delicious, and the honey maple pork belly I ordered just melted in my mouth.

The service was a standout—friendly and welcoming, which is quite rare in Trinidad. It immediately set a positive tone for the meal.
I had the oxtails with macaroni pie and rice and peas. While the dish was flavorful and satisfying, it didn’t quite capture the authentic Jamaican essence I was hoping for. My husband tried the lentils, callaloo, and pork belly, which also leaned heavily into Creole-Trini flavors rather than the rich, bold Jamaican taste we expected.
