Nate's Cafe & Grill — Restaurant in Trinidad

I was quite disappointed by this experience on Father's Day. My family and I decided to visit this establishment as it was nicely advertised on social media and given good reviews. On entering the restaurant, it was observed that the area is small, being a new establishment I felt as though the ambience and appearance should've been better. We experienced various issues at this place and work needs to be done to rectify these issues. Firstly, we asked for drinks which were given to us in the bottles. We requested glasses with ice. The waitress bought one glass of ice and when 4 additional glasses of ice were requested, we were told that they ran out of ice and it was only 1pm and they were opened until 3pm today. Secondly, my dad ordered lamb and fries and the lamb was raw. He informed the waitress, she took his plate to show the chef then came back to asked if he would like it cooked more. He said no and ordered their lunch special which was breadfruit oil down and stew chicken. The oil down was very watery and had no taste. We expressed our displeasure with this. Even though these issues, the waitress was quite professional in dealing with the issues and they were understanding enough to exclude both dishes which we were displeased with from the bill. My mom & I visited this restaurant for the first time about a week and a half ago to have breakfast. The experience was wonderful, the food was excellent. We both have been there on several occasions since then for take out and the food still was not disappointing at all. The place is small but has potential to be transformed into a nice cozy setting. Parking might be a challenge. Not forgetting the staff, they're quite hospitable and friendly. This food place was excellent, the chicken alfredo was amazing and delicious, it was creamy with alot of flavor, the service was amazing, the waiters were very nice , no one was rude ,they attended to everything i asked for. The atmosphere was aesthesicly pleasing, the place was very clean, inside and outside the restaurant. Will recommend going there if you want to go on a date or on a nice family dinner. And a good thing about this restaurant is you dont have to wait long for the food to arrive...
