3.7/5* The Ojja is a traditional Tunisian dish, also known as Shakshouka, which involves poaching eggs in a spiced tomato sauce. This particular ojja was ‘Ojja Boulettes’, featuring meatballs, which had a strong taste of cumin, paprika and fennel. They only had 1 egg per dish inside, not being enough. The Ojja had strong hints of onion, peppers and parsley as well. This dish was perfect for dipping baguettes into, which were free flowing. The Kamounia Poulpe, was an octopus dish with a very dominant cumin flavour. It had a bit of a spicy kick to it with slight cayenne peppery notes. But, the cumin was so overpowering that we could barely taste the octopus or other flavours involved. However, the octopus had a nice soft texture, cooked nicely. The trio salad involved olives, eggs, tuna, sweet pumpkin, tomato, cucumber, pickled chillies- Honestly it was our favourite on the table, we had to order more of it. It tasted very fresh and fragrant. Overall, this feed was a satisfactory introduction to Tunisian cuisine, offering us some unique dishes and flavours and providing us with an insight to the nations history.

After reading the very positive reviews I was looking forward to my meal here. The service was good and the owner was friendly but unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. I ordered meatball appetizer and they literally gave me two small meatballs and it was very dry and bland. The madfouna was even worse, I got a large piece of fat with no meat on it and it literally had no flavour. I’m not sure if it was beef or lamb and I assume it wasn’t pork but texture wise it felt like pork. The seafood pasta was fine, nothing special but for a restaurant that charges a sit down restaurant premium for bland food and outdoor cheap table seating in the sun it was not worth it

We had a great experience in this little precious restaurant. Bouda's kitchen is just fantastic and he is a great host. As he heard we were Italian he put Italian music on and we had a great time chatting and eating as if we were at home. The restaurant is little with an open kitchen, it is spotless and offers great traditional Tunisinian plates with a very good value for money. We had a delicious spicy octopus stew and meatballs with spinach. We higly recommend this restaurant, better make a reservation especially in the low season when there are not the tables outside.

I came across this place while I was in a stag do with 11 people in Sidi Bousaid. I saw the Google Reviews and it looked exactly like what I wanted - authentic Tunisian food at a humble restaurant.

When we arrived at the place, I approached the owner and asked if he could sit 11 people without previous booking and he immediately obliged and offered us a one of the best customer service we have experienced in Tunisia. The food itself was incredible but the owner made our last evening very memorable.

Would recommend to anyone looking for food in Sidi Bousaid. The cheap price does not reflect the quality...
