By far the BEST meal in Tunisia across 3 cities visited (longer description below)
Came to Tunisia for 5 days with my partner (we’re from the US) stayed in Tunis, Sousse and finished our trip in Sidi Bou Said. Absolutely nothing compares to the meal, service, and atmosphere of this restaurant except not having a view of the water that you can have after a 5 min walk.
The Ojja is the best dish by far we’ve had here, we almost considered asking for more bread (they give you plenty) to scrape every last bit off the plate to eat.
The couscous was delicious and the spiced veggies inside made it exceptional.
Our only regret was not ordering Brik along with it, saw another couple eating this and loved it - and not ordering something else besides chicken, we were kinda fish’d out at this point.
Please do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant while you’re here. They’re also very fluent in English and will explain the menu to you if you need it - such kind and talented people with their cooking!

The only restaurant you should eat when you’re in Sidi Bou Said, in our opinion.

For our very first night in Tunisia, I felt ambitious and wanted a full blast of authentic Tunisian Cuisine. Through Google Maps, we found Elbarkoun - great reviews, and truly authentic looking. We used Google Translate to communicate; it wasn't too easy, but well, we decided to leave our fate to the chefs. 🧑🏻🍳
