Seorabeol Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Şişli

Korean cuisine holds a special place in my heart. Having had the privilege of trying authentic Korean dishes countless times with my Korean friends, my expectations are quite high. Thankfully, Seorabeol always meets those expectations. I've frequented this restaurant numerous times and each visit has been a delightful experience. From their mouthwatering grilled pork belly to their flavorful galbi, soybean stew, kimchi stew, seafood stew, seafood pancakes, fried squid, and ddeokbokki, every dish is a true representation of Korean authenticity and absolutely delicious. The flavors dance on my taste buds, leaving me craving for more.

When dining at Seorabeol, I highly recommend opting for one of their set menus, especially if you're visiting as a party of two or four. The couple set is a personal favorite of mine when dining with a partner, but even when we're a group of four, we often order the couple set and add an extra serving of galbi. Alongside the main dishes, they also provide a variety of side dishes that perfectly complement the meal, giving you a complete Korean culinary experience. I must admit, I'm particularly fond of their side dishes, especially the iconic kimchi. Just writing about it makes me yearn for another visit to the restaurant.

For those eager to try this remarkable restaurant, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

1. Make sure to make reservations in advance, as they operate solely on a reservation basis.
2. If you visit for lunch, you'll have the opportunity to grill your own meat, which adds a fun and interactive element to the dining experience. However, if you choose to dine for dinner, the skilled chefs will prepare and serve the food for you.
3. If you're a party of six and there's an available room, they can arrange a private room for you, adding an extra touch of elegance to your dining experience.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy this culinary adventure as much as I do every time I visit. Seorabeol truly is a hidden gem located on Kore Sehitleri Caddesi in Istanbul.

Very tasty food, dont be fooled by the prices, tastiest food i have eaten in a long time. When i first glanced the menu and checked other tables my heart skipped a beat, however after ordering 2 main and 2 side dishes the table quickly filled up, so much so that i was unable to finish the food available with my partner and had to take some home and continue later in the day. If you are planning to visit here, please do so. If you are worried about money, i would highly suggest you dont miss such great food, i believe 150 ₺ should suffice per person. I could not praise here enough and i will be personally visiting again. Make sure to reserve a seat as they tend to be very crowded with limited tables. Update: I have since visited a few more times and i can confidently say that their quality is consistent. Due to the turboulant times and economic issues, the menu has seen some changes however it wasn't enough to make me not go. Management did some smart moves (such as some food items being cheaper with lower portion size like the rolls, used to be 80 for 2 rolls, now 45 for 1 roll). Kore Mutfağına İlk Adım: Seorabeol Korean

Bir süredir Kore mutfağını denemek istediğim için Esentepe’deki Seorabeol Korean restoranını ziyaret ettim. Ancak, deneyimim ne yazık ki beklentilerimi karşılamadı. İşte detaylar:

Atmosfer ve Temizlik

Restoranın atmosferi ne salaş ne de lüks bir ortam sunuyor; tam anlamıyla ortalama bir mekan. Özellikle randevulu olarak gittiğimiz ve 8 kişiyle yerleştirildiğimiz özel loca tarzı odada sürekli sinek gezmesi rahatsız ediciydi. Bu durum, hijyen algısını olumsuz etkiledi. Dekorasyon ve temizlik açısından da yeterli olduğunu söyleyemem.

Personel ve Hizmet

Personel, ilgili görünmeye çalışsa da, yemekler hakkında yeterince bilgi veremedi. Menü tamamen Korece ve İngilizce olduğu için seçim yapmak oldukça zordu. Yemeklerin içeriklerine dair herhangi bir açıklama olmaması, sipariş sürecini daha da karmaşık hale getirdi. Daha iyi bir yönlendirme yapılabilirdi.

Menü ve Yemekler

Menüde birçok seçenek var, ancak içeriklerin belirtilmemesi karar vermeyi zorlaştırıyor. Resimlere bakarak seçim yapmak zorunda kaldık. Biz vejetaryen gimbap, ahtapot ve dana etli bir soteye benzer yemek ve ekşili tatlılı tavuk gibi birkaç ürün sipariş ettik. • Dana Eti ve Ahtapot: Dana eti, çok yumuşak ve lezzetliydi, ancak ahtapot tam bir hayal kırıklığıydı. Sertliği nedeniyle çiğnemek neredeyse imkansızdı. Ayrıca, aşırı acı bir tat vardı ve acı seven biri olmama rağmen benim için bile fazlaydı. • Ekşili Tatlılı Tavuk: Menüde tercih ettiğimiz ürünler arasında en lezzetli olanıydı, ama yine de genel olarak beklentimin altında kaldı. • Gimbap ve Yan Lezzetler: Gimbap ve diğer yan ürünlerden çok fazla zevk aldığımı söyleyemem. Sunum açısından da oldukça sıradanlardı. Porsiyonların ise bol olduğunu belirtmeliyim; bir kişi için fazlasıyla yeterliydi.

Fiyat-Performans Değerlendirmesi

Mekan ve yemekler, ödediğim fiyatı kesinlikle hak etmiyor. Kore mutfağı gibi özel bir mutfağı sunan bir restoranın, hem mekan kalitesi hem de lezzet konusunda çok daha iyi bir deneyim sunması beklenir.

Kime Hitap Eder?

Eğer Kore mutfağını daha önce deneyimlemiş ve bu kültüre aşina biriyseniz, burayı deneyebilirsiniz. Ancak, ilk kez bu mutfağı deneyecekseniz, daha açıklayıcı ve anlaşılır bir restoranı tercih etmenizi öneririm. Böylece daha bilinçli bir deneyim yaşayabilirsiniz.

Sonuç

Kore mutfağına olan ilgim nedeniyle denemek istedim, fakat Seorabeol Korean beklentilerimi karşılayamadı. Menülerin daha açıklayıcı hale getirilmesi ve servis sürecinde müşterilerin daha iyi bilgilendirilmesi, deneyimi çok daha keyifli hale getirebilir. Restoranın kendini geliştirmesi gerektiğini düşünüyorum.
