the food is genuinely good, but the portions are very small. I had the mac and cheese chicken burger, and my partner had the vegan burger. both tasted great, but we were left hungry. the burgers also don’t come with fries, which was a bit of an unpleasant surprise — you have to order them separately, and honestly, they’re overpriced for the portion you get.

the seating arrangement is quite cramped; it felt like everyone was packed in too tightly, which made the experience less comfortable. on the plus side, the staff were polite and friendly throughout.

we did run into a couple of issues: they informed us after taking the order that they had run out of vegan buns and had to use regular ones instead. I also ordered a strawberry milkshake, but after a while, they told me they couldn’t make it because the machine was broken.

overall, the taste was great, but for the price and portions, it left us a bit disappointed.

adding to this: on a recent and separate occasion, there was a queue when we arrived, and since we were just two people, they let us in, but then tried to seat us in an incredibly cramped spot. we were so close to the next table that I couldn’t even reach out my hand without accidentally hitting someone. the music was also too loud, and being that close, I could even hear the people next to us chewing, which was genuinely revolting. I went to House of B twice during my stay in Istanbul because the food was great and the service was also great. The reason I’m giving it a 2 star is because I felt scammed as a tourist when they gave me the bill it said one thing but the server said with service it’s a different amount. Originally I thought he was saying tip is not included but I wasn’t able to choose the tip amount it was told to me. The way I understood it the first time was if you’re dining in it’s one price and it’s to go it’s a different price. I paid the higher service amount the first time which was about 5% more than the original. The second time I went the total with service was 15% higher! But the waiter was awesome and I just took it as I’m tipping him regardless. I later found out from a local friend that it’s illegal for them to charge you a different amount than what’s on the receipt. And this was the waiters way of tipping him self whatever amount he felt he deserved. Again great food and atmosphere but be careful with the service fee.
