We stayed at the Meydan Besiktas for a week in August 2019.||||On arrival at the hotel in the afternoon we were checked in by the receptionist who spoke no english. As a result were given no information regarding the room, breakfast etc... Our room, which was on the first floor, i would liken to a dungeon; dark with no natural light, and was very noisy from the garden bar next door. We had origianally booked a Deluxe room, which this clearly was not. When we opened the 'garden view' windows we were confronted with a wall and 2 air conditioning units. The room itself was dirty and dusty, clearly had not been used in a while. we also had 1 towel, 1 cup, 1 glass etc for 2 people.||||Not impressed i went back to reception to complain, the poor lady on the desk who could not undertand me had to call her manager, who spoke English in order to translate. The manager informed me by phone that the hotel was fully booked and we would have to stay in the room for the night then he could move us to a room with a 'garden view' tomorrow. Luckily as we had some Turkish friends in Istanbul they managed to call the hotel and we were moved rooms that very evening! ||||The second room was also dirty and had clearly not been used in a while, same issue with the ameinities as well. I again complained and agreed to have the option of choosing another room the following morning, but was told due to bookings we may have to move after 2 nights out of the room. I requested the room be recleaned and the facilities be improved, which did happen the very next morning. The safe was also broken and was repaired the following day.||||We had some other friends staying in the same hotel whose rooms were located on the front of the building and were very noisy, due to this in the end we opted to stay put in our second room as its seemed to be the quietiest room.||||Breakfast was poor with no choices, just a tray of a few cheeses and some bread, 2 slices of Turkish ham, a boiled egg and Turkish tea. We only had the hotel breakfast twice during our stay, alothough included as preferred to find somehwere better.||||One positive was the location was perfect for exploring Istanbul, really close to ferry port, walking distance to tram stop and right in the heart of busy and vibrant Besiktas, an area we loved!||||I think the hotel is still in the process of being built/ renovated and this shoes in the quality so unfortunately its a no from us, but if you are looking from a great location and are not bothered about the rest then it may work for you. providing you have earplugs if your rooms at the front!||||On a positive note, the staff, dispite not being able to comunicate in English, did the best they could and were very applogetic and generally lovely to us...
Read morewas nice welcoming to the hotel. Guy from receprion offered me free water and coffee he saw i was very tired after long flight. was nice from him. thank you. check in was quick. in the morning i woke up because somebody in corridor was trying open other door with key and it was quite long and loud. i woke up because of that at 7am. and couldnt sleep after because cleaning starded and i could hear people talking loud and cleaning in other rooms. not good isolation. but next day was quite there and i woke up at 12 by accident. they were kind and didnt rush me and didnt charge me extra for check out time 30m late. also it smells cigarettes sometimes when other guest smoking in their rooms you feel it in your room. room was good, was hot water in shower. my room didnt have any view. wifi sometimes works badly in room. location is nice many restaurants around and port with ferries. i enjoyed this hotel so far its fair price. i paid 120$...

The rooms were dirty and noisy (feel the street in your room), super rude staff who are likely some fraudsters! At the checkout day, they said as your credit card is not working (such a lame excuse), you have to pay the amount in cash. I did so and then they returned me no receipt. Now it turns out that they have both taken the cash and charged me with the credit card. Interestingly, they are refusing to return the additional charge and denying the whole story! They are not even watching their security cameras (or maybe they watch but prefer to still deny it).
This is an obvious case of fraud and the staff are absolute fraudsters! Go fast, go far! Save yourselves and avoid this so-called "hotel"...
