We recently dined at Isokyo, the Pan-Asian restaurant located in Raffles Istanbul. While the overall dining experience was not exceptional, there were some standout elements worth mentioning.
Isokyo offers a fusion of Japanese cuisine and other Asian flavors. The food (vegetarian dishes) , overall, was good but not outstanding. We found the gyoza to be disappointing, as the skins were too thick and doughy. Despite the chef's attempt to make us a replacement, it tasted similar to the original. However, it's important to note that our intention for writing this review is not solely based on the food.
What truly impressed us was the exceptional service provided by Ayberk and Yunus. They were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. Their efforts were commendable and contributed positively to our evening.
Additionally, we enjoyed the in-house music played by the DJ, which added a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere to the restaurant. We were disappointed to have missed the Sunday Champagne brunch, which features a full 5-instrument live band with a male vocalist. It sounds like a fantastic experience.
Overall, while the food at Isokyo was not memorable, the exceptional service provided by Ayberk and Yunus, as well as the enjoyable in-house music, made our evening pleasant. If you're looking for a Pan-Asian dining experience in a stylish setting, Isokyo at Raffles Istanbul may be worth...
Read moreI am very spoiled for good food and good service. so the expectations were high. the service is really at the highest level, but I would question the price-quality ratio of the rolls. The rolls are good, but not really great. eel roll from the temari sushi section is just a ball of rice with peace of eel and that's it. Crispy shrimp roll from the oshi sushi section is very beautifully served in ice steam, but it tastes like ordinary rolls from a regular sushi restaurant. You expect more interesting menu from a premium restaurant. but the beef tataki was not traditional and very tasty, with chips and marinades, bravo! I will have to try hotter here next time, this time I went for the rolls. the waiters are wonderful (last name of mine waiter is Emre, thanks to him for the great service!), they speak good English and are surrounded by care, bravo! The...
Read moreThis restaurant is located under the Raffles Hotel. We had the tasting menu and the whole experience was amazing. The starters were incredibly flavorful and really opened up our appetite. The portions were generous—actually more than enough for two people. By the end of the meal, we were so full we couldn’t even fully enjoy the final beef dish.
At the time we went, the tasting menu was priced around $100 for two people, which felt like a great deal considering the quality and experience. Due to changes in currency value, I’d recommend checking with the hotel for the latest price.
It’s definitely a perfect spot if you’re planning a date or celebrating...
