Ortaköy Cafe Kahvaltı — Restaurant in Beşiktaş

Best breakfast in Ortakoy. Cozy place and family owned. The quality of cheese, olives … everything is above average. Fried dough is delicious. They have many options and I have been here more than 10 times and tried many things and everything was delicious. If I have a visitor or a friend who wants good breakfast I always take them here. They are all satisfied and they visit the place again. English is not a problem, there will be someone to help. The prices are reasonable according to other options and quality. Ithe place is on a back street of Ortakoy, quiet. Weekends can be busy so if you are a bug group you can make a reservation. My only complaint is if you are sitting outside and there is someone smoking it can bother you, but they can’t do anything about it unfortunately:( But overall if you want to spent nice time and have a wonderful breakfast, this is the right place. The food is okay, but I was charged in USD instead of TRY and unknowingly had to pay a dynamic currency conversion (DCC) fee, which led to an extra 8% charge. The receipt says, 'I have been offered a choice of currencies and have chosen to accept DCC and pay in USD,' but I was not given any such option.

When I raised the issue with them, they insisted it was a problem with my bank and not their fault. However, since the receipt clearly states that I made a choice, it seems unlikely the bank would force the DCC fee on me without my consent. It appears they selected the DCC option on my behalf without informing me.

Their attitude was poor, and they kept blaming me for the issue. Fine, I will dispute the transaction with my bank. I hope they come to understand this issue and address it properly with their future customers, assuming it wasn't done...

Very comfortable, clean, bright, decorated restaurant. View of the goodies in the firin (bakery) window is what makes this restaurant attractive!

Food was good (eggs, manti), coffee was excellent, well done, nothing superb but all well done. Prices about right at 450TL for 2, nothing fancy. Service swift and friendly, no issues. WC in the back, clean, bright, not smelly and it works. No complaints.

The area is pedestrian friendly, no cars, and is quite cute with lots of nice shops, cafes, services all around. Pleasant place to be strolling around on a...
