The unvarnished beauty and the soothing colors inside are the most important characteristics of this mosque . Just opposite of Ciragan hotel (previously a palace! Where else did you see a palace converted to a hotel?!) and very close to the entrance of Yıldız Park, it's easy to access. You can spend a nice morning : visit this mosque (better to say, you may start with the 'sister' Ortaköy mosque which is also very close here) and then have a walk in Yıldız Park where you can enjoy your breakfast also. It was built by Sultan Abdulmecid in 1265/1848. Its architect is Garabed Amira Balyan. It has two doors one of which is opened to the courtyard while the other is opened directly into the mosque. The Little Mecidiye Mosque consists of a single domed square prayer section, a narthex symmetrical to the general configuration located north of it, a minaret on the eastern front and entrance section added the western side of the narthex. Mass order is symmetrical with respect to axis passing through the main entrance and niche. It goes beyond the classical mosque construction concept with the presence of Hunkar Pavilion in addition to the prayer section, eclectic order in the minaret; baroque, rococo and empirical styles applied in the decoration. One of the many mosques immutable elements, the drum of the dome is not available in this building. From the dome to the main arches it is reached down by a profile set and small decorative brackets. The same profiles are located on exterior surfaces of prayer section and portico area and the royal loge mass and by winding the structure, they increase the relationship between the masses. On the north side of the mosque, there is a small courtyard surrounded by walls. Plan of the prayer section of the mosque is in the form of a square about 12.50 meters. It is is attached to narthex with three opening on north side. It is understood that the room which is the most neatly formatted place of the narthex and the mass of royal loge and and of which both ends are circumferentially are left for the sultan. From south side of the west end of the square planned space, it is passed to the royal loge. This is covered with a small wooden dome and is opened to prayer section with an extension in the form of circular segment. The most important feature of the plan design of Little Mecidiye Mosque is the lack of narthex between indoor space and outdoor space having a passage feature. The introduction of circular shape to design is also very interesting.

Kucuk Mecidiye mosque is a place of worship for followers of Islam. It has a dome, a minaret, and a prayer hall. Inside, there is intricate architectural designs, calligraphy, and geometric patterns. Mosques serve as centers for community gatherings, religious education, and spiritual reflection. They have facilities for ritual washing before prayer and separate prayer areas for men and women. It’s next to yıldız park which is good. The place inside not that big, yet it’s not that crowded.

Located behind the Çırağan Palace at the entrance to Yıldız Park, the Küçük Mecidiye Mosque was commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecit in 1849, and designed and built by the architect Garabet Balyan. It is also known as the Guest Mosque (Turkish: Misafir Camisi). Today it has a congregation of around 150-200 people and is especially known for its minbar, constructed of red onyx and its white marble mihrab with carved flower motifs.
