Loved this place!!! I trained as a chef this is one of those places Rick Stein would love! The family who runs this little place are full of enthusiasm for the ingredients that are around them in this market! The lady owner/chef walked us to the fish stalls and helped us pick fresh a fresh wild sea bass, squid/calamari and prawns! They were prepared and cooked with care and respect for the ingredients we had collectively selected! We were welcomed into the restaurant like fondly remembered friends and after preparing and cooking our fish it was served with a fresh salad with the beautifully seasoned and dressed with olive oil, lemon and pomegranate dressing. Garlic bread is how it's described but it's so much more, a carefully prepared lemon, garlic and chilli butter is adorned upon toasted local bread and the balance is fantastic! The chef asked us as we walked to and from the fish stalls what we wanted and how we wanted it and to a tee it served that was, Calamari battered and fried as so many of us like it to be served with a yoghurt sauce, prawns served with the same carefully prepared butter from the "garlic bread" along with more fresh parsley and lemon slices! The wild sea bass was simply filleted and given a light dusting of flour and seasoning and shallow fried, so simple but so expertly cooked! When simple things are done well it elevates the ingredients and shows how good the chef really is! In this case she was and of course still is BRILLIANT. We cannot wait to return on...
Read moreWhat a tourist trap! Not sure why it got good rating. The lady boss only showed us photos of dish and not the menu with price before ordering. When we questioned about why the price she charged us was doubled from menu price later. She told us she increased the fried calamari size. And she did it without consulting us! A plate of 10-12 pieces of one TL coin size calamari cost us 50TL. Tourist please ask the plate size before ordering and not to believe what you see on the photos. The lady boss explained 25TL fried calamari on the menu was for a 2 inch by 1.5inch small plate size later. Another dish of 7-8 pieces small to medium garlic prawns cost us 55TL. While the same garlic praw dish on next table of two local people had about 12 pieces bigger size prawns. A bottle of 330ml local beer and a glass of local white wine cost 20TL each. Normal price was 12TL from restaurant a few steps away. The fruit juice was 10TL per glass. Normal price in other place cost 5TL. This dinner cost us 460TL. Compared to our seafood dinner for 6 pax in an Antalya marina high end restaurant located underneath Antalya castle with sea view, we paid 660TL for a 1.3kg lobster, 2 1kg sea bass, 1 0.9kg sea bream, hand size salmon steak, hot plate prawns (12pices big) and fried calamari, with free salad, free tea, free fruit and free ice water...and much more attentive service. What a rip off by this small stall located in the fruit market! Really doubt where the good...
Read moreEdit: We've been here a second time. This place beats all the others if you want to have a perfect seafood experience. A cosy and lovely family-run restaurant. What I love the most about this place is they won't force you order more than you can actually eat. We went there to have fish, but we were recommended two other starters with fresh ingredients and that's it! You will find similar starters in most other restaurants, but the chef here loves adding his own touch with different flavours and spices, what makes their food special. Must-tries: Mushroom in creamy, garlic sauce; prawns in lemon sauce and baby squid in white wine sauce. Remember to take some raki and şalgam to enhance all those flavours and enjoy!
With all due respect for everyone trying to run a business and promote their restaurant, I still hate it when the restaurant owners/waiters push you to sit at their table, not giving you any peace to look around and decide. We first saw this place, then decided to check the other restaurants near the fish market (the counter in the middle), but immediately left due to the annoyingly pushy attitude and went back to Oztoklu. It was the best decision ever! Such a nice and cozy place (away from the smell, which is a huge plus); the food is very delicious and you can definitely rely on the chef's recommendation :)- We will definitely...
