I had a similar experience to many others at Recep's Place, and I have to say it was a memorable seafood adventure. The standout feature for me is the ability to choose your own fresh fish right from trusted sellers in the market. It’s all super fresh, definitely not farmed fish, and you can really taste the difference.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They guide you through the selection process and make sure you get exactly what you want. I’d like to give a special shout-out to Mustafa, who was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home.
Another big plus is that the grilled fish is cooked over natural wood charcoal, which gives it a fantastic smoky flavor you just can’t get any other way. The meze are also delicious and pair really well with the main courses.

There is a circular kiosk where several seafood vendors try to sell you their product. After you make a purchase, they try to direct you to their specific restaurant... but you can actually take it to any of the surrounding restaurants to cook for you. Read moreWe purchased fresh seafood from the local fishmongers and took it to this place for cooking. To be frank, just checking all the reviews on Google, I was still quite sceptical. However, I must say that this restaurant charged us at a reasonable price for cooking (60 TL per person per dish). They even charged us less than what was agreed on because of the amount of seafood we had. ( 5 of us - prawns, fish, scallops and squids - supposed to be 1200 - we were charged 750)
When in fish market, what I’m usually afraid of is that restaurant would swap or take some seafood away from what you have bought; this did not happen to us, as I hand-picked my prawns, and the number was spot on after cooking 👍 so thank you again for this amazing experience - don’t forget to ask them to cook your prawns with garlic...
