Rise Restaurant — Local services in Fethiye

We specifically came here based on good reviews, particularly for the mezze options. We were early for dinner, so literally the only customers. We sat outside, which was nice, but our place settings never got set up, and we had to go inside to get out our napkins and salt/pepper. That said, the service was good and friendly, and they helped us pick out mezze options from the display case. Unfortunately, they were mostly average, and one, yogurt and some sort of green leaf, was actually pretty off-tasting. We also ordered the calamari, which, while simple preparation, was very good. Overall, I cannot agree with other reviews on the food, however.

When the bill came and we went to pay, we ran into an unfortunate situation with them saying that Apple Pay would not work. That’s fine and understandable that things sometimes do not work, but what was not fine was them telling us the reason was because we had more than one card on Apple Pay; clearly, that is absolutely rubbish, and of course they would have no way of knowing if we even had more than one card. And we have used all over Türkiye for the last 3 months. Anyway, they asked us to use a regular card to pay. Instead, I said, “Use my phone,” and miraculously, it worked fine. No idea what this was all about but never like being told something that we know is not true or accurate.

So overall, we won’t be back and would not recommend. Debated about a 2-star rating but ultimately felt that was a bit harsh, so...

I never review but this restaurant has a weird vibe. When my wife reviewed them they lied in their response. From my perspective - it took one hour to get food. The salad arrived relatively quickly and was fresh. After asking what the hold up was for the two mains (twice) and not given a reason - we were told 5 more minutes but only one dish came. We asked to cancel the second dish and get the bill. They did not do either. The second dish came not much later with just one hair in it. It was much better than the first. I had to go inside to pay despite asking for the bill a second time and being clearly frustrated by the wait. What’s weird beyond this is that the resto in their response to my wife lied. No one mentioned to us there was a problem with the grill - that’s the whole issue perhaps, as we wanted to get to the beach before sunset. We were happy outside although we were also offered an air conditioned seat. The outside was served and in fact we were solicited by their staff working outside to come sit. Rise’s response was childish. Tell your customers the grill is not ready so we can order items that don’t need it. If you want to offer a complementary item great! but ask if there are food intolerances. When a customer refuses to pay the tip because the service is bad accept that you will loose 130 lira and try again. The yogurt dip is not complimentary if you force me to pay! Don’t lie about broken doors to try and safe face....

Had a lovely start to our evening in this restaurant. It was very busy as they had a concert in the square.

The food was very tasty but it was disappointing that they didn't have any calamari. Not to worry, we had shrimps instead.

We had an enjoyable meal and asked for our bill. The bill came out at over 3900tl! I noticed they charged us for a bottle of wine that we hadn't had, I questioned this with a staff member. He changed it to 2 glasses of Villa doluca at 560 tl. This was still wrong so they changed it to Villa doluca at 480tl. This was still wrong! I had 2 glasses of Isabay wine at 200tl per glass! They finally charged the correct price after having 4 different receipts. They also charged for bomonti beer instead of Tuborg. Finally they charged us a cover fee! This is not advertised on the menu and I don't believe they charge every table this fee. Maybe just tourists, but I could be wrong?

They blamed all these problems on the fact there was a concert I'm the square and it was noisy. How can this be? Everything we ordered came to the table so this is just a rubbish excuse.

Leaving this restaurant after having to argue about the bill spoilt what started off as a lovely evening and caused a bad atmosphere.
