İstanbul is a very big and crowded city with over 18 million inhabitants. A logical consequence of this is the huge number of street food parlors, from döner saloons to kebap houses, etc. Some say that Hacapuri is the best black sea pita bread (Karadeniz pidesi) house of the city. From my point of view, to support this claim, I should have tasted at least %75 of similar pita bread houses of İstanbul, which I haven't. On the other hand, I can claim that Hacapuri makes delicious pita breads, with meat or cheese. It is centrally located on the Anatolian side of the city, opposite the Kadikoy Municipality Building, near Söğütlüçeşme train station. The store is open 6 days of the week, from 10:30 till 21:00, except on Sundays when they open at 09:30. They are closed on Mondays. Prices are moderate, try to be there before or after noon break when offices nearby close and employees visit Hacapuri for lunch. With your selection of Karadeniz pidesi, don't forget to order also the rice pudding which was...
Read moreFound this treasure in our last day in Istanbul. Fantastic spot, you can smell the fresh baked bread from the line outside the door. We went in peak hour on a Saturday (6pm) and the staff was very organized and efficient! We were asked for names and our order before entering (it can take about 10 mins for a table for 2 people and another 30 minutes for an order to be ready)- so extra points for effectiveness! The food was amazing, first time trying this dish. They do use lamb meat (not a personal fan) but they season it properly and we had a variety that wasn’t as strong-tasting as it can be. Very good. Next time definitely trying it out with ayran. We top it up with a rice pudding with hazelnuts and wow, delicious. Perfect sweet to end a night out. Is it too obvious I really like this...

We took two, but were disappointed, because they used another cheese - yellow one, cheddar, (should be white salted suluguni or kaşar) and when you mix it with egg, it's get cold soon, totally different taste and difficult to grab inside with bread. but looked it good, dough was pretty good. but unfortunately 😕 another pide was "close pide", too crispy, too much dough. maybe I will give this place another chance, try open pide...but service were polite, place is simple - lokanta style. clean. for 3 pide and çay we...
