I had visitors from dubai and recommended Strada to them as I'd been several times with Turkish friends and always had a good experience. On 29/8/25 the experience was frankly so bad I was embarrassed that I had recommended them. They arrived for lunch just after 3pm and was shown to the table and I arrived 5minutes after them. We waited for almost 15minutes before a waiter came to take or order . We ordered sparkling water and still water , starters soup, calamari ,buratta, and a korean beef sandwich , pizza , sushi, dynamite shrimp, and seabass. After 10mintes a waiter came and brought bread ... no butter , no olive oil,or balsamic. After 10mintes I called the waiter we ordered water and we were in the restuarant almost 40minutes and still nobody brought the water ... the table for 2 next to us arrived after us , they were attended by a different waiter after placing their order the water brought bread oil and butter as well as the drinks they ordered. At 4 pm we finally got the burrata , and the beef sandwich the third person's soup and calamari was coming so we waited .trying to get the attention of a waiter when 4 of them were standing talking to each other, I called a waiter who had brought the people at the next tables meal , and then the soup and calamari was brought...by which time the beef starter was a cold sandwich. We then had to wave someone over to collect the dishes and waited a further 20minutes for the main course . The pizza and sushi arrived and again the gentleman's seabass and my dynamite shrimp is coming ... we told my friend to eat the pizza as it will get cold and I waited until they brought the seabass and shrimp. The seabass wasn't well cooked at all the gentleman left half of it on his plate. The people at the next table were long gone And we were still waiting for our tea and the bill but to add insult to injury , they charged more than 1000 lira as a service fee. My guest insisted they pay the bill but frankly , the service fee is the biggest rip off and many restuarants in turkiye now add this charge. ... the staff on the restaurant were not that busy I counted at least 6 waiters and less than 15 tables were occupied. So how the service has dropped so drastically is because the waiters are getting paid from the restuarant and the service fee are split so they don't care . I live in Istanbul, and I get lots of visitors , but strada will not be somewhere I'll recommend to my...
Read moreThe restaurant looked very promising on Google, with great reviews and a stylish, upscale location that seemed appealing. However, our experience fell far below expectations.
We arrived on a Thursday around 6:00 PM without a reservation. The hostess gave us a table in the outdoor area, but we immediately asked for a different table as it was too cold outside. Instead of accommodating our request, she argued with us, insisting there were no other available tables, even though half the restaurant was visibly empty.
We decided to ask another waiter, who kindly told us that we could, in fact, move to a different table. However, the hostess returned and seemed reluctant to let us change seats. After some back-and-forth, we were finally given another table, but it was extremely uncomfortable. The table had high chairs and a poorly designed setup where we couldn’t position our legs properly underneath. It felt more like sitting at a bar than enjoying dinner at what is supposed to be a fine dining establishment.
When we received the menus, they were only in Turkish, even though it was quite clear that we didn’t speak the language. This added unnecessary confusion to our experience.
The service throughout the evening was abysmal. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and lacked the professionalism one would expect from a restaurant that markets itself as high-end. Given the reputation and price point, the level of service was a huge disappointment.
As for the food, it was mediocre at best—nothing special and certainly not worth the hassle of the overall experience.
While the location and ambiance initially made a good impression, the service and dining experience were far from satisfactory. Unfortunately, this is not a place I would recommend...
Read moreMy sister, spouse, and I visited Strada restaurant, and our experience was a mix of acceptable culinary offerings and a pleasing ambiance. However, the allure shattered when confronted with shockingly unethical behavior from the waitstaff and manager. The pretentious claim of exclusive interior designs by a ubiquitous designer, coupled with an unwarranted photography ban, reveals a facade rather than authentic charm.
In an era where dining transcends taste into an art form, the lack of tolerance and genuine passion in Strada's service is glaring. Regrettably, this establishment falls far from deserving my continued attention.
Our experience was unfortunately tainted by an incident involving our waiter, While enjoying our dinner, we attempted to capture moments with photographs, intending to preserve cherished memories with my sister and wife. However, Hakan informed us of the restaurant's policy, supposedly due to the wishes of the interior designer, prohibiting customers from taking pictures. This reasoning struck us as peculiar and unexpected, significantly detracting from our evening. It's disheartening that such an incident overshadowed an otherwise pleasant meal.
Moreover, the attentiveness of the waitstaff was inadequate. When the dishes arrived at the table, they failed to serve and neglected to refill empty glasses. Having to manage our own service in a fine dining restaurant is quite ludicrous and detracted further from the overall experience. I would caution those seeking a seamless dining experience to consider these aspects before...
