WAYANA Wine Bar — Restaurant in Kadıköy

This wine bar isn't quite worth making a visit to Istanbul specifically to drink at, but it's really d** close. They have a phenomenal selection of local wines made from indigenous grapes, and a level of passion and commitment to Turkish viticulture that is basically ridiculous.

Do yourself a favor: come here, have a glass of wine, have another glass of wine, think about it for a while, have another glass of wine, come back the next day and just basically spend a bunch of time here. I really can't say nice enough...

I absolutely loved my experience at WAYANA Wine Bar! The highlight was being able to taste so many different wines by the glass thanks to their Coravin system. The owners and staff took such care in explaining every bottle with incredible knowledge and passion, and they encouraged me to try several before deciding which to take home. Asked for a wine tasting menu, the wines were good, served in 0.5 dl portions, and got a small bread tapas with each. The tasting menu costs 700 TRY as of July 2023. The place is not targeting the average consumer, I think, but the wine lovers. For those of you out there who want to try the turkish wines, this can be a great place to visit.
