Kamer Ocakbaşı Restaurant — Restaurant in Manavgat

We visited this restaurant for dinner and ordered only three items: wine, a meze plate to share and a falafel plate. The menu didn’t explain what was included in these dishes. Immediately after our order the waiter asked if a fresh salad works for us and if hummus is okay. We agreed, thinking these were part of the meze or falafel. At no point were we told they would be charged separately.

When the bill arrived salad (320 TL) and hummus (320 TL) were listed as separate items. When we questioned it the waiter insisted we had ordered them and must pay. In my experience across Europe, waiters may suggest adding something to the order, but they make it clear if there’s an additional cost. Here it felt misleading.

Additionally in the beginning of dinner they brought us half a bottle of water without asking. Later though we asked for more water. In the end they charged us for two full bottles (150 TL each).

Food quality was fine, but the lack of transparency and upselling without disclosure left a very bad impression, we felt scammed but didn’t want to...

During my recent visit to Side, I had the pleasure of dining at Kamer Ocakbaşı Restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip. I had only a few hours to explore the area and wanted a memorable dinner, so I found this restaurant online, and it didn’t disappoint.

The location is fantastic—right on the seafront, close to the old town of Side, with beautiful views of the water. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff truly went above and beyond. They were attentive and knowledgeable, suggesting traditional Turkish dishes that were absolutely delicious. The quality of the food was top-notch, and even though I was full, I couldn’t resist finishing every last bite.

The sunset view while dining was spectacular and really added to the experience. But what stood out most was the genuine hospitality. We felt sincerely welcomed and cared for.

I had the pleasure of dining at Kamer Ocakbaşı Restaurante and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. Firstly, the ambiance of the restaurant was stunning. The decor was modern and chic, with dim lighting and comfortable seating. The modern music playing in the background added to the overall atmosphere. Moving on to the food, I was blown away.

We had a romantic dinner ( Birhday of my wife ) we had Mr. Hasan ( Boss ) and Staff looking after us - they made it all so special and a night to remember. The staff was wonderfull and friendly, especially Mr. Ali and Mr Erkan ( Bartender ) ! Really enjoyed, the staff is friendly and attentive, thank you Mr. Hasan and all Staff....
