Myself and family have been coming here for many years. We have visited Vamos Beach every single time we’ve come to Marmaris and ALWAYS had a great experience. So this is not a scathing review but I have NEVER experienced such awful service as I have just experienced.
Both myself and my 14 year old daughter were a bit peckish, so decided to take a detour to go to Vamos for a bite to eat as the food and drinks are seriously good!
Sat down, and was greeted by the same man (self observed and ignorant) who served us the other day. However; this is fine, some people are just like that ♀️
Ordered the bruschetta, menemen, and tomatoes with oil (my daughters favourite) glass of wine and a frozen Cinderella for my daughter. This was in between the waiter walking away each time I tried to tell him what I wanted. This was rather painful, but I knew what he was like from the other times, so grinned and bared it.
All arrived and was fine. I have to say, and I did (to my daughter) that the menemen was the best I’ve had in turkey! We’re literally almost finished and as I went to lift my fork, a huge orange hair is pulled out from my menemen.
I asked the waiter to come over, simply to advise of this, and was then met with what can only be described as a barrage of abuse! Like really bad. My daughter was mortified, they shouted at me telling me that it was my hair, the my daughter had picked it out of her head and put it in the menemen! I was absolutely mortified. Her hair is pure blonde and mine also, so it was not ours, I can assure you of this! Furthermore, I would NEVER do anything like this!
Now bearing in mind it’s only me and my daughter, there are around 7 men gathered round all shouting. I was absolutely NOT trying to get out of paying for anything whatsoever, I only wanted to let them know. Furthermore, the menemen (an egg breakfast dish) is £1.75 (Sterling) so I’m not even bothered about the money! I was just advising them there was a hair in the food.
I asked for my bill, I was TOLD I was paying for it all, I advised that due to their treatment I’d be paying for everything but the menemen (our of principle) to be then screamed at that they were going to review the cctv! Like I was some kind of serial menemen non payer!
I asked them to please review the cctv whilst I was there. I was then told to F*ck off and never come back! Now bear in mind that the entire beach is looking at us by now! I’ve never had such a bad experience in my life. Clearly I won’t be back, and I’d honestly hand on heart recommend walking the extra 10 minutes along to Bono, as this is far superior, the staff, ambiance, I’d say the food (but I always would have put them in the same category) until now.
Honestly, this is a very brutal review but one that had to be left. We’re sat in Piccadilly now, with lovely host Reg (cafe type food) but honestly the service and welcome is second to none!

Read moreI’ve ready so many mixed reviews about Vamos, but I’m glad we tried it. I first heard of Vamos from the YouTube Channel Hangovers and Handpays.
We arrived around 12:30pm and were immediately able to obtain two sunbeds. Now with inflation and changing of the lira, prices will likely change over the next year but the spending minimum per person was 750tl, this feels quite reasonable as we recently spent 600tl on bed rental plus food in Oludeniz. The spending minimum allows access to the beach/sunbeds, showers and WiFi. We ordered margarita pizza, fruit platter, 2 Turkish teas, 2 Turkish coffees, children’s chicken biggest and three sprites.. this allowed us to meet and exceed the minimum by about 250tl.
The food was always brought out piping hot and when my daughter accidentally spilled the tea that was placed with us, they immediately brought another one - no questions asked. The fruit plate was plenty and we snacked on it throughout the day, while the pizza was very light in sauce (I’m a saucy gal), but it was very good. The tea was hot but only came with one sugar, I’m sure I could have requested additional but I do not like to be too much of a bother. The Turkish coffee came perfect with our ‘orta’ sugar.
The beach is more sandy than the other beaches I’ve been to in Turkey (Antalya, Oludeniz, Butterfly Valley, and along the Aegean coast) - this ovbs cause the water to be a bit murkier but it decently clean. There are men and women who walk the beach offering services from massage, to water sports to fresh fruit and jewelry.
I would rate our experience as a 10/10 - it’s beautiful, fairly quiet (not many small kids like my hotel pool 😂)and...
Read moreHappened on this place by chance. No-one trying to drag you in while you peruse the menu. A bit pricier than other spots, but worth every penny - about £60 for 2 adults and 2 children. One of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in years - anywhere, home or abroad. Their fillet steak is perfect and cooked just as perfectly, as were the accompaniments. The Thai curry my partner had was equally well executed. All the portion sizes were very generous, both of the adult and kids meals we sampled. Service matched the name - very speedy. The waiters and staff were so friendly and accommodating. Travelling as a disabled couple with two small children, the help to our table (on their pier) was both friendly and unhurried. All the staff were great with our 2 and 5 year old; even casually whipping out a light blanket when the 5 year old fell asleep mid meal. Afraid I can’t comment on their language skills outside of their excellent English. They more than earned a good tip and my return business should I return to Marmaris. I highly recommend this place if you’re nearby. Thanks for a delicious, relaxing couple of...
