La Patisserie — Restaurant in Kampala

It's a real struggle to get the orders right here. I'm writing this as I sit here Being the fourth time visiting that the order is wrong (though I've come here many times in the past but of recent service has gone so far down hill). Waiters are not familiar with the breakfast menu, dont bring you what you ask for and forget key components, not to mention they seem scared as customers approach the tables, no warmth, no guidance to the tables, no sincere welcome. I orderd the continental breakfast, as I was dictating the options to choose from off the continental breakfast he was constantly trying to look at the menu to understand what options there were, in the end I had to break down the menu for him and explain the options and what I wanted. He has just brought the first part of the breakfast i.e pastries, cappuccino, etc. The cappucino for some odd reason came with a spicy/paprika TUC biscuit on the saucer that did not go at all well with the cappucino. Waiter forgot to bring jam to put on the bread and brought toast instead of bread, no apology offered at all and served with a couldn't care less attitude. In my experience it is rare to come here for breakfast and the waitresses or waiters get your order right first time, that said, the food is of great quality and tastes great. Also no fly candle on the table so I'm constantly swiping flys off my food. Told waiter and he ran to get one, again no apology! Come on guys. La Patisserie used to be the best place for chocolate croissants, all sorts of cakes, breakfast and great service. Today no waiter attended to us. Yet over 6 waiters were running around. Only after we had asked to clean our table someone attended. We waited for over 50 minutes for our breakfast, ended up to take one for take away. The fried eggs looked old. The chocolate croissants were too oily and like in any other restaurant. The pancakes were now a real joke. It makes me sad that prices increase everywhere yet the service is not taken serious. Horrible service!! As soon as I walked in I noticed the waiters were only concentrating on the other customers (i think it's clear which ones - issue in Uganda). I literally sat on the table with no menu for 40 minutes (I timed it). 2 stars is generous. It should have been 1 star or zero. After loosing my patience with one of the waiters is when I was finally asked what I wanted to drink and eat. I don't know if I will be back. Oh and please note that the place was not busy.
