The Patio Bella — Restaurant in Kampala

The food (grilled chicken breasts) was okay, the smoothie abit thin, and the service terrible from start to finish. After delivering to us menu, the waitress disappeared and wasn't returning until we called her. After taking our orders, she informed us it would take about 10 minutes to prepare the orders. She took 35 minutes. When we were eating, nobody came to check on us; to see if we were enjoying the food or needed anything else. After eating, we had to call her to clear the table. Then she disappeared again and didn't bring our bill until we actually walked to the counter and followed up. Guess what, while we thought they were understaffed and she was probably overworked, she was in the backroom conversing with her colleagues. Management needs to improve. I came to the Patio Bella for my pre- birthday dinner and it was my first time there.

First impression is everything, and these guys did well. The menu was accommodating and I love this since I don’t eat red meat. They were willing to give me switch for the burger and prepared it with a chicken patty. My partner had the pork ribs which were well prepared and juicy. The burger for me, if I’m honest, if you put burger sauce and bacon on my chicken burger I’d love you for life. Most restaurants don’t put much creativity for chicken burgers (that’s why they are usually dry) and the Patio Bella putting in that effort is 5- star for me.

The service at the restaurant was extremely disappointing. There were very few waiters available, and it seemed like they were understaffed. Throughout the entire meal, no one bothered to check on us or take our order. We had to constantly call them over just to get their attention.

To make matters worse, the food took an incredibly long time to arrive at our table. It felt like we were waiting for ages, and it was frustrating to see other tables being served before us, even though they arrived after we did.

Overall, the poor service and the excessive wait for our food made for a highly unpleasant...
