As with all of my reviews here in Uganda, I begin by expressing the fact that I am new to Uganda, fresh in from America. As of this review, I have been here for 3 weeks and 3 days. I love Uganda. On to the review.
I went out on my never ending quest for good pizza. My search led me to Pizza Bond. I walked to the place because I love pizza enough to walk to get it. I arrived to find that the place smelled like pizza. Good sign so far, right?
Let's start with the atmosphere. Many people would have given it five stars. Large pictures with clever sayings to promote their product. Modern music playing. Fairly inviting for those on a modest budget. Family friendly. I detracted a star or two because I prefer a quiet environment. Couldn't tell if there was a public restroom. The seating arrangements were kinda strange. I sat on a couch that was really large and a bit far from the table. The place was a bit dark as well. It's all good.
I gave the place five stars for service since it was my second time here. The first time here I placed an order that I had to immediately cancel since I had left my money back at the shop. They gave me no hassle about it. On this, my second time in, I assumed I was recognized by the staff and yet my order was received with the same courteous service as if I hadn't made the earlier mistake. The pizza took a while but it was out soon enough and was hot when served.
The food. I got the thing to go. I eagerly opened the box for a slice. To my surprise, and chagrin, there were two pizzas stacked on top of each other. The cheese from the bottom pizza was being pulled off by the crust of the pizza on top. I can get over a little thing like that if the pizza is good. So I lift up a slice and take a bite. Not the worst slice of pizza but no sauce on the pizza. Aagh! Getting tired of ordering dry pizza in Kampala with no sauce. To make up for it, apparently, they included a couple of packs of tomato sauce with the pizza. Please. My wife loved it though. She thought it was pretty good. She's a native Ugandan so her taste buds and mine don't match. I ended up gifting the rest of the pizza to the needy.
Anyway, if you are Ugandan and not used to pizza, this place might work for you. If you are American or just want the taste of American pizza, you'd better...
Read moreOne of the worst customer experiences ever. Your service has completely fallen apart. Your cashiers are rude, careless, and have zero respect for customers on the phone. I’ve been ordering from you for years and I used to recommend you to everyone, but now you’ve lost me for good. For the last three orders, you either sent the wrong food, delayed for hours, or didn’t deliver at all. And when I tried calling, nobody picked up or even bothered to call back. That’s not how you treat loyal customers. You better fix your staff and your system because if this is how you continue, you’re going to lose a lot more customers, not only me. I’m done wasting my time and money with such...
Read moreThey still have very good and tasty pizza, they have added an extra day, Thursday, for the buy one get one free offer, my only issue is there is only one person at the front handling phone calls and taking orders which means there is a great delay especially if you are waiting for your order.
The transport/delivery rates are also abnormally high even for places very close by the pizzeria.
All in all, they provide very tasty pizza but need to improve on the turn around time.
If you want a memorable pizza experience, pizza bond is the...
