Cafesserie Arena Mall — Restaurant in Kampala

At Cafesserie Arena Mall, there is no customer care whatsoever. It starts when you enter, the managers don't even bother to greet you. When you sit there, the girls working there continuously pass one centimetre away from you or they even bump into you which is very irritating. The girls themselves don't even realise what their behaviour does to me as a customer. Managers at Cafesserie have absolutely no regard for what you need and they treat you carelessly. You even get stared at by the girls working there and they stand around laughing. When you try to explain this situation to the manager later, they just say ‘we are so sorry for that’. They repeat that about 100 times. The manager is unable to manage this situation and resolve it in a nice way. Having a nice and enjoyable time at Cafesserie is impossible. And when you go to leave, very suddenly they do have an eye for you and come running with the bill immediately. Customers have harassed me hundreds of times. Cafesserie does nothing about it. At Cafesserie in Acacia Mall in 2022, there was once a customer who was aggressive towards me but was totally unstopped. The staff stood by and watched it and also stood around laughing about it. When the manager finally came after a long time she did not stop the aggressive customer either. That was the female manager who has long hair on one side of her head and very short hair on the other side of her head.The letter I wrote about this to the boss of Cafesserie was deliberately thrown away by the staff.Then I had to re-write the letter and give it to the boss myself.This situation has never been handled...

Wow wow WOW! Cafesserie has been my favourite Kampala high class café/ restaurant since they first opened at Acacia Mall, Kisementi five years or more ago. The second venue in Village Mall Bugolobi maintains the same high standards and excellent food but their newest branch at Arena Mall takes the brand's interiors to a whole new level. Think plush, velvet-upholstered sofas and a cocktail bar theme. I loved my first visit during opening week.

This new Cafesserie is pitched at high flyers and KLA sophisticates (thank goodness this girl had her best frock on!)

Each branch has the same menu (I don't recall any specials) and features popular items such as marinated grilled pork, roasted salmon, gorgeous multi-layered salads, some of the best patisserie in Kampala, superb coffee and homemade ice cream. Cafesserie has the capital's BEST desserts: richly flavoured chocolate mousse, and European classic sweet treats such as tiramisu and crème brulé 😋

The interior is air-conditioned. Cafesserie Arena Mall has a large outdoor balcony, including a smoking area at one end with a green plant wall (what a shame the plants are plastic). The wall is an unusual eye-catching feature. The balcony area can be noisy because of its proximity to Nsambya Road; however, I would love to revisit when it's dark to see the city skyline lit up - the view must be sensational!

Access to the mall from Nsambya Road is easier than it first appeared. Car parking appears to be well laid out and secure.
