Citadel Inn — Restaurant in Lviv Urban Hromada

Like many people, however high the rating of a hotel, I like to have a bit of fun by filtering only for the poorest reviews. Some people have, inevitably, majored on the 'sad history' of the place. My counsel is simple: read up about the place and, if you don't like what you read - don't stay there. Don't give the current hotel a poor rating just because of its history; on that basis I am sure that most of Europe's wonderful castles would receive a low score!||||Also, please note; this hotel is NOT in the centre of town. It cannot be miraculously moved to the centre of Lviv and so, if you want to be centrally located, find another hotel but don't moan about the location; look places up on a map before you book!||||So, what DO you get and why have I rated the hotel highly?||||The rooms are great. Each one, as you would imagine, is slightly segment-shaped with a separate toilet/bathroom and shower room, which we liked. The only downside is that the two doors get in the way but at least they swing without hitting each other.||||As the walls between rooms are about 2 metres thick you will NOT be kept awake by the guy snoring in the next room! The external walls are even thicker and so we were only vaguely aware of a thunderstorm one evening. Because of this 'insulation', each room has its own WIFI hub||||The decor throughout is extremely tasteful and the quality and attentiveness of the service is stunning.||||We ate in on each evening as we had wandered around town during the day. The food is very reasonably priced and they threw in a complimentary half bottle of wine. Breakfast offers a a wide choice and the view over Lviv from the restaurant is one of the...

18.9.2020 reserved quiet room,got confirmation,arrived...and was told-we have today wedding and loud music till 12p.m....WTF?At 6 p.m.(in an old fortress!) the whole structure vibrated and could identify songs from 3 floors upper us... But the worst-had to discuss more than one hour with receptionist about refund...asked us to cancel at booking.com(on own expenses),told after that returned money at once(but nothing arrived and they didnt wanted to give the receipt from terminal),manager not available!NO GO! Panoramarestaurant blocked for wedding-other guests were sent to openairbar(autumn,10 degrees),Spa closed because of "covid", AC doesnt work...very poor performance of this "5 star"-hotel! 9.10.2020 they refunded finally the prepayment,apologized,gave a free night as compensation and this time everything was well. Simply there are a lot of little lacks for this category of hotel,which are simply not acceptable.Will give them once another try,but despite their wonderful location-now competition of hotels in...

I stayed in Citadel in October 2014. It's a unique place, inside and outside, with an absolutely fantastic view from the restaurant on top. I appreciated how quiet the place was and it took only 10min to walk to the city center. Rooms are spacious, very clean, and beds are super comfortable. My Mom who usually doesn't sleep well in new places because of her back loved sleeping there, so did I! Everything in the hotel was well thought through and well done. The breakfast was great - try their cheese cakes! They are out of this world...We loved the live piano music in the evening at the restaurant. I had a plate of pirogies for dinner - fantastic!!! I also used their spa, I loved the service (had pedicure and massage), but the spa place itself can use a bit of improvement. The front desk was very helpful and spoke good English. They really try hard to please you. I will definitely come back should an opportunity arise. Try it out, you will enjoy...
