If you’re looking for an unforgettable seafood experience, let me share a hidden gem I recently discovered—Alaskandrani Restaurant. What started as a quick stop at the fish market turned into an extraordinary dining experience that my wife and I won’t soon forget.
We were just passing by, and my wife wanted some cold water. To our surprise, Mr. Mahmood, who works at the restaurant, insisted on giving us bottled water for free—such a simple gesture, yet so thoughtful. I had just bought 1kg of large Omani prawns and decided to take them to Mr. Mahmood to grill. We chose the lemon garlic butter marinade, and let me tell you, it was phenomenal. Perfectly grilled, flavorful, and juicy—every bite was a treat.
We didn’t stop there. We decided to order from their menu and tried Habool, a traditional dish made with fish eggs, coated and fried to perfection. This dish is notoriously hard to get right, but they nailed it—no unpleasant smell, just a rich, delicious flavor. Hats off to the chef; finding someone who can make Habool this well is rare.
We also had their seafood saffron soup, and it was beyond generous with seafood and saffron. The balance of flavors was incredible—rich, fragrant, and deeply satisfying.
The food was so good that I couldn’t resist going back to the market to buy another 1kg of prawns to have grilled, just so I could share this incredible experience with my family at home.
What really stood out about Alaskandrani wasn’t just the amazing food but also the attention to detail. The restaurant was spotless, with no smoke or heavy seafood smell lingering in the air like other places nearby. The service was top-notch—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring.
My wife summed it up best: “This is the best seafood I’ve ever had in my life.” And I couldn’t agree more. Whether you’re a tourist, a resident, or a local, don’t miss this place. Alaskandrani isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience I wholeheartedly recommend. ... Second visit, still amazing experience, sharing more pics 🤤 the crab with...

UAE is nice country but this restaurant can effect all your UAE experience, that kind of bad service.
We have taken seafood from fish market. They asked 3-4 times for another order. They pushed next table for photo taking, they made lady really uncomfortable. We bring fish from outside and we were lucky, except us everybody was asken for photo :)
No gloves or crab knife etc. You have to ask for it, we realized after meal.
They made us wait more than 2 hours! Shrimp and crab came around a hour but not fpr octopus. We reminded many times, different waiters. They say it's normal If we bring fish from market. After all they said we allready ate octopus? They don't trust us, they checked bills of other tables etc. After that they see we are not lying. They serve another octopus. After more than 2 hours, is it possible to enjoy food?
Food was oveecooked and dry. Most probably they don't take care If you have fish from market.
Not recommended, specially If you buy fish from market and make them cook.
We paid 56 aed for 2 person service, cooking and 2 water. It's cheaper in this way but they make the best to make it less enjoyable. Also octopus was much smaller.
Never, never again......
Read moreAlaskandrani Restaurant, nestled by the Abu Dhabi fish market, offers a delightful seafood experience. We opted for the 'Three of Fun Tray,' for 250dhs ,featuring a generous spread of 2 seabream, 3/4 kg shrimp, 3/4 kg calamari, 1kg crab, and crispy French fries – an ample feast for 4-5 people. The accompanying portion of rice, sauces, and hummus complemented the seafood perfectly. Despite the staff's insistence on ordering more, the quantity proved more than sufficient. The freshness of the seafood was unmistakable, and each bite carried a burst of delectable flavors. We requested extra spice, but the dish remained mildly seasoned. However, it's worth noting that the wait for the food was a bit lengthy, so diners should factor that into their plans. On a positive note, free parking around the fish market eased any concerns about finding a spot. With summer temperatures in mind, opting for the indoor seating provides a cool and welcoming environment, allowing guests to savor their seafood feast without the discomfort of the heat. Whether you prefer the refreshing outdoors or the climate-controlled indoors, the restaurant caters to diverse preferences, enhancing the overall...
