This will be the last time I visit this restaurant after it became clear they manipulate the quality of their food. They serve fish that isn’t fresh. For example, if you order a dish that’s supposed to be 100% fresh, you might actually get 75% fresh and 25% not fresh. Of course, this isn’t an exact statistic, but it reflects the reality. It happened to me twice, and to a friend as well, so I don’t believe it’s a coincidence.
What happened with me specifically was that they served me fried shrimp that clearly wasn’t fresh. Since it was deep fried, it was harder to detect at first. But when the crab dish came, it was served ice cold, as if the chef forgot to heat it, or perhaps the waiter mishandled it. When we tried it, it was obvious the crab wasn’t fresh. The waiter apologized, then reheated it, but ended up burning it, leaving it with an unpleasant smell. When I told him that most of the seafood served wasn’t fresh, he apologized again and brought the manager over. The manager also apologized and said they were willing to do anything I asked.
In the end, I left the restaurant and decided to share my experience here, and it’s up to you to make your own choice. But when a restaurant risks its reputation just to increase profits, by serving dishes that aren’t fresh and disregarding the trust and respect of its customers, it no longer deserves either our respect or...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Gandofly, and it was an experience worth sharing.
The menu at Gandofly is diverse and caters to a variety of tastes. I started with the roasted beet salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, I chose the herb-crusted salmon, which was cooked to perfection with a delightful balance of flavors. The side of garlic mashed potatoes was creamy and well-seasoned. Dessert was a decadent chocolate lava cake that was rich and satisfying.
Each dish was not only delicious but also showed a careful attention to detail in its preparation and presentation. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, making every bite a delight.
The service at Gandofly was outstanding. Our server, Maged, Mart and Anne were both attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly.
Gandofly excels in both food quality and service. The combination of delicious seafood thoughtfully prepared dishes and exceptional service made for a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend Gandofly to anyone looking for a top-notch seafood meal in a welcoming setting. I look forward to...
Read moreMy friends and I bought some shrimps and fish from Mina Fish Market and have the seafood cooked at Gandofly. They offer three flavors of the seafood: red sauce (tomato base), lemon, and garlic. The red sauce is very flavorful, while the lemon and garlic sauce are more bland. However, they still cook it pretty well. Our shrimps and fish were grilled perfectly. One thing that made our experience less positive is the services. The waiters were nice, but communicating in English was a bit hard. They also wanted us to order rice and salad to go with our seafood (with additional costs), but we refused. Then they got a bit annoyed. Besides, when they were demonstrating on peeling a jumbo shrimp midair, the shrimp fell off the fork and ruined my dress. They didn’t apologize at all, which was pretty rude and inconsiderate. Btw, they have both small bottled water (2AED) and big bottled water (5AED) listed on their menu, but only the smaller ones were available in reality. If you’re someone who drinks a lot of water, I recommend you bringing your own. All in all, grilling skill was good, but improvements should be made for...
