Well dear reader, This review is dedicated for Rafat.
There is a saying in Arabic that says “ for an eye, a city shall be glorified “ basically it tells us humans fellows that sometime we love a city merely for a loved one resides that city. And this is why I am writing this review. I was coming out of the airport after my graduation, a 15 hours flight, moving out from my place in the US, and that very moment I can’t tell how much I realized how challenging that 24 hours were. As a coffee lover, we find an escape in a corner of the one coffee shops in a quiet place. My time in Abu Dhabi was just for a layover, and great memories not about the length of time, it is about how we felt, and how intense or in another word unique or even how much we needed that feeling during that moment of time.
And genuinely, I can’t tell you enough how much I needed a kind, and compassionate smile during that day, and again this is why I am writing this review UNFILTERED.
This smile was from the most Ghanaian lady, Rafat.
Rain’s owner , bravo ! You made the right choice. I am so grateful for that memory in that place . I am so grateful for people like her, I am so grateful for any person in this world who chose to be kind despite their jobs, titles , situations, or whatsoever!
Kindness is a choice , and people who work at Rain are the best example.
Choose to be kind people, so many folks out there need...
Read moreThe interior is cozy and stylish. The coffee is very tasty, and the dessert is simply outstanding! However, the service left much to be desired. Our coffee was brought immediately, but we had to wait 30 minutes for our food—despite ordering only toast and dessert. By the time the food arrived, our coffee had already gone cold. Ideally, coffee should be served with the meal.
The toast was disappointing. The egg was fully cooked instead of soft, and they forgot to bring utensils. The toast itself became soft and soggy under the layer of avocado, suggesting it had been sitting out for a while before being served. The café seemed overwhelmed with takeaway orders, and the staff appeared nervous and unable to keep up. However, this is not the fault of the team—they were doing their best. The blame lies with the management. If you choose to serve both dine-in and takeaway customers, you must organize the workflow properly.
Overall, my experience was disappointing. Wishing the team good luck—they seem like nice people. But to the owner of the...

We pulled up for a simple takeaway—French toast and a V60—and it felt like an episode of a comedy of errors. First, the waiter came out without a menu. Then, he didn’t know what a croissant was (despite Rain’s Instagram full of croissant posts) and even got confused about which coffee beans were available—twice. A second staff member came out to “reconfirm” the order but spoke so poorly we could barely understand her. By the time a third person finally brought out our food (after 20 minutes), we were over it.
To make things worse, while we were waiting, Arabica (right next door) had six cars come and go with their orders flawlessly handled in the same amount of time. It was a clear contrast in service and efficiency.
Rain has good food, but unless they seriously train their staff on basic communication and speed, it’s hard...
